Do I need O2's?? Codes 172, 173, 176, 177

I ran my codes last night, found 172, 173, 176, 177....all pointing to a problem with both oxygen sensors. But considering their price, I want to be sure I have eliminated other possible causes before I drop $100 on new sensors.

Car has been running kind of crappy at all throttle positions, except WOT. It idles slightly rough, doesn't want to accelerate well....it kind of sputters for a bit, then really takes off. At steady speed cruise, it has what feels like a slight miss. I haven't checked MPG, but it seems pretty poor.

Plugs and wires are good, plug wells are clean, EGR, IAC and MAF cleaned, no vac leaks found during a quick check.

The O2's were replaced about 4 yrs./70k miles ago with Bosch parts.

Anything y'alls think I ought to be checking out before I replace the sensors themselves???

just replaced mine when getting 172 and 176 codes....$35 each at autozone for Bosch....cleared the codes and back to better gas mileage i go!!!

um yes, 4 codes pointing to the O2 sensors... generally a good sign that they dont wanna work no mo. you can sometimes find sensors on ebay too... but autozone seems a good deal from above post.

Y'all were right on!! I replaced both O2's today, car runs much better and no CE light. Hopefully the gas milage will improve also! Although the best price I was able to find was Bosch for $45 at my local AZ, still not too bad...
