Ian and I might make the trip too, but I told him we had to get the a/c fixed... I refuse to drive that far in the oven without some cool air, I'm a wimp.

I put the slicers on today, man it amazes me how ugly the basket weves can make a decent car look.

Jerms, you don't wanna give me the front seats out of SHOfun do ya? :D
My front seats in this 89 are fallin apart quick, need to find some grey seats for cheap! Did I say cheap? I ment free.

We are having a bachelor party Saturday (July 24th) night for Wilson if anyone wants to partake in the festivities. Then the GTG is Sunday.

Wilson is a new club member. Has a nice "rare" white 91.

It's been a long time since I have been able to get together with any of the SHO guys. Between travel for work and with the family, I have not been around many weekends. I hope to be able to catch up with you guys at this meeting. That is, if I am not sent on another trip.

Seeing that I am almost upon the 290,000 mile mark, that means that the benchmark of 300,000 miles is just around the corner. It looks like I should reach that point by this winter or early next year. I sure hope to keep her running until well after that time, but man, I have to throw my SHO a party for that milestone. She's still a ball to drive.

Holy shyte!

You'll have to give me directions from North Dallas.

It looks like my hotel is near the corner of Greenville and Forest Lane. I'll be up in Dallas sometime around 6:30pm, from there I'll pick up the rental ( probably a snazzy Toyota I get to thrash ) and could run out to mee you fellas somewhere.

ive got some real nice gray 50/50s from an 89 or 90. theyre a little dirty but nothing a little upholstery cleaner wont solve. the seats i want are 150 each, so ill take 300 for the set of 50/50s :p j/k. lemme think about this, unless Smurphy wants first dibs ?

Don, that's an awesome offer. Wonder if I can fit the seats in the trunk/backseat.. Might have to take them a part but shouldn't be impossible.
Dale...this is my budget car, everything I put on this car has to be super cheap or free. Trying to keep total initial investment under 1500, and so far I'm doin good.

martin and i just got the $650 pos slapped back together. if anyone thinks that the $1500 a shop wants to charge for ac work is outrageous, think again. it is very worth it, that accumulator was painfull enough. as martin was "saying" (read: whining/********/demonstrating menstral pains) it would have been easier to remover the engine.

the accumulator IS easy to replace. ive been thinking about getting into A/C work down here for a side job. just a few short months ago, A/C work was the only automotive topic i lacked in. now, i talk A/C all day at work. so, instead of selling a recharge/retrofit kit, i sell a compressor, clutch, accumulator, A/C flush, 134, and o-rings. that $35 dolla expense just became $500. no wonder im leading sales at my store :). as for install and labor for a SHO A/C system, id charge anywhere from 750-1000.

I got my compressor from my 93 SHO that had been replaced not long before it was totalled, the accumulator and oriface/liquid line I got from my buddy who's a manager at orillies. After removing alternator, compressor, battery/tray, intake, coolant overflow, power steering resovoire, fuel lines, engine dampner etc. it was still a pain in the butt to get the accumulator in, the pipe that comes out of the top and runs from the radiator support all the way to the firewall is ridged, and ofcourse there's not enough clearance to pull it straight up. The old one got ripped out, and in the process broke the DIS module, and the cam sensor plug. The new one went in with a painful and long process of very careful shoves and pulls, and a bit of pushing. I'd compare it to trying to pull the exhaust system out without cutting it or taking loose the rear control arms. I'd rather pull a motor than do this job again.

Had one of Ian's buddies pull a vaccum on the system and charge it up for me, on the bright side, I had 37 degree air coming from the vents at the shop, and I also installed my underdrive pullies while the motor was taken apart.
total cost including flush, 134a valve adapters, the accumulator, liquid line, oriface tube, and refrigerant/oil was less 230 bucks. Not too bad

I'm sure that if there were any slutty women there, Mr. Don would be the first to let us know about it. :D
