Fun Racing Friday Night. Good meeting all other SHO owners.

Anytime anyone wants to hit the track let me know. There is one in Kennedale and Greenville also.

Friday night was a success. Had a lot of fun at the track and got some great times on our cars. I think we were ALL very disappointed that Tony didn't run his Supercharged SHO on the track, but we'll get him to run it SOMETIME in the near future I'm sure. As we will also get him to dyno it as well. We'll do this again soon.

And as for the next meeting, we may have a small little meeting in a month or so at a restaurant to discuss upcoming events. We'll see. We Will definately be meeting to go out to Mineral Wells March 2nd for the Autocross, anyone who wants to attend or participate. EVEN if you don't race, you REALLY should go, it's awesome. You can ride with anyone that will let you ride with them, and it's a blast. ANYONE and EVERYONE'S welcome to ride with me. I love doing it and love taking people for rides and scaring the crap out of them. hehehe Actually no one's gotten scared so far, but that can be arranged.

Anyway, I'll let you all know. I'll post about the full weekend in a second to give details.

I, too, had a BLAST this past weekend. Great time, guys. It was cool to meet you Mike. Definitely stick around.

Oh, and for anyone who wants to meet for racing, I'll be going BACK to the Denton track this coming Friday night (22nd), so come on out if you want to race again. I'm not sure what time I'll be heading up there, but it'll definitely be before Midnight Madness starts, so I can make a few runs.

Side note: As Tony said, he DID run his car. One of those times was against me, and he WON! And I have the time slip to prove it, too!

I'll be at the Denton track Friday night as well. Test and Tune runs from 6p.m.-10p.m. or so. Test and Tune you get the full tree lightts rather than Midnight Madness the green light hits right after the stage lights.

Yeah, someone told me you raced Tony, and I had no idea!!! I hate that I didn't get to watch. :( What kind of times did you pull??? I'm very curious.

I had a very enjoyable weekend, it was good meeting several of you for the first time, and seeing the regulars again. Thanks to the probe people for allowing the SHO's to overwhelm the meet
At the 1/8th mile my best time was 9.8@75MPH
And at the dyno 194whp 187tq.
Not too bad I guess.

Mike: Awesome. Looking forward to seein' you again, man. Are you READY TO RUMBLE? :) I'll probably be there around 7:30pm; that way, me, you, and some others guys that want to race me can have fun by ourselves. I might stick around for Midnight Madness, but I'd rather have fun with the track to ourselves for awhile. And, like you said, with Test n' Tune you have the tree for staging.

Brian: Yeah, I raced Tony (and he beat me). I did pull 10 seconds consistently all night on my stock setup. And before you guys got there, I beat that dark purple Mustang GT that was going around, but I red lighted (only by a smidge), but still won.

I probably have about seven slips total from the night. My worst time was 10.2 and my best was 10.02. Not bad for my stock setup. Now that I've added a homemade cone setup to the mix, I hope to get some slightly better times this Friday. I'll scan my slips soon for everyone, too.

Martin: Yeah, I loved it. Feel free to come out this Friday night, if you can make it. It's be nice to have an informal meeting up there, just to have fun, if nothing else. It'd also be great to TEAR up the track during Test 'n Tune and make all the techs wonder WHAT THE HECK those SHO's are doing out there! :D

Sounds good Adam. I'll be out there around that time. I'll bring my digital camera to get a few pics. Want to see that home made air intake.

I'll have to wait a few weeks before I can come back up, gotta let my finances recover somewhat.
I had several runs that were above 10.2 but I never really did warm up to that instant/delay green they were doing.

Mike: Sounds great. It's looking like it might be a little later (around 8pm) before I get there. My brother might be coming, but he doesn't get off until 7pm, and he'll wanna eat something before he comes.

Martin: Cool, man. I actually had no idea you lived in Houston until I read it on your profile! As for tonight, I plan to do all my racing before Midnight Madness starts at 11pm. That way, we can have the track to ourselves and use the tree staging lights and not the annoying "instant green" we got last time. During the Test 'n Tune (from 6pm-11pm), you actually get the times shown on the displays at the end of the track, and you get the tree. After Midnight Madness starts, though, there are no staging lights and no times displayed. Weird, huh?

Congrats to Adam for hitting a sub-10 second time last night at the Denton track.

Adam hit 9.93 at 72 on a run where he just barely got nudged by a new Z-28. Who says you need a two door sports car to kick ass?

My SHO hit 10.2 at 70.

Later,
Mike

Well, great job both you guys on giving the shos a strong shoing at the track!! Scott and I have discovered that my compression is low and that my engine is sick. It might be time for a bored 3.6 long block from the shoshop!!! YEAAAAAAAA!! For the low, low price of $6500!!!! eek!

I think they are trying to simulate 'street racing' but I think it kinda sucks!!
But lots fun!!

hehe, thanks for the plug, Mike.

Yep, both Mike and myself had a GREAT time at the track Friday night. And yes, I FINALLY BROKE THE 9's! 9.93, as Mike stated, and I slips to prove it. I'll have those scanned and posted shortly.

It felt pretty good to keep up with that Z28 (which only made a 9.201). :D

Nice going Adam! I don't know what times Tony pulled (he kicked our @$$E$ all over the track I'm sure), but I think me and you are the only non-supercharged SHOs that pulled sub 10 second runs at the track. That's great! What do you have done to your car exactly? It's running very strong. I think you said it was an automatic too...so you're doing really good!

I haven't posted my slips in here yet, but I'll post my best times on this one. Can't wait to see your's too Adam!

I was accelorating today to get on the highway from first to second, and I've been noticing TONS of wheel spin. I noticed it down the track very badly as well. Anyway, upon noticing it today I became very excited because of an apifany. I thought to mayself, "Once I get a Quaife Differential...I'll have LSD Positrack and my tires won't spin anymore, but hook up instantly." That was enough to get me started saving like mad for a Quaif Diff. hehehe I'm gonna' go ahead and rebuild my tranny at the same time. It'll be about 3 months before I have the money to get this and install it myself though, so...until then...I'll have to drool at the thought. I think this would GREATLY increase our track times, though, in these front-wheel-drive cars, and greatly reduce wheel spin. I think more of us should look into this. It's a great investment, I think. What do you guys think?

So far, I'm totally stock. The only thing I had on the car at the track was a FRAM paper cone filter, which I think helped a little. Other than that, I have done NOTHING except maintenence, which is a testament to Scott's work! :D
