I just got done putting new rear sway bar end links on my 92 mtx, which now makes the car feel tighter in corners etc. But one of my control arms(at least I think thats what it is called) is all bent out of shape. Are the 4 bars, 2 to a side , connecting on each wheel and joining in the center of the car the control arms? If they are/arent, what are they called? And since I need to replace it, can I just get one from a slo? It looks to be about the same length etc, but I just want to be sure. Also, where can I get some polyurethane(sp?) bushing for the sway bars(the ones on the frame)? I asked at napa and levine, but they had nothing for the sho. Thanks :)

Those bars in the back are indeed your control arms. There are upper and lower control arms. I am going to assume they are the same as the ones on the SLO but I will let someone else verify that. You can get the bushings at www.shonutperformance.com. He also has TPR bushings which are supposed to be just as good but don't squeak. I've never used them so I can't confirm it.

Upper and lower control arms? Not on my SHO.. :)
There are two pairs of rear control arms - one pair per side. They run parallel to each other. One is mounted toward the front of the car and one is mounted about 5" back, nearer the rear of the car.

They are indeed the same as on a SLO, though GenI and GenII SHOs use different arms.

The steel bars are the same, but I thought the rubber bushings were different between Slo,SHO, and police? Any additional info guys?

As far as I've seen, they are all the same soft rubber, SHO and SLO.

In theory it shouldn't matter because the control arms don't take the brunt of locating the rear hub laterally - the strut rod does. That's why upgrading the strut rod bushings is so important. The advantage is that going to Poly SRBs doesn't affect the ride to a noticable degree.

Now I'm rambling.
