all this time that I was hunting for a problem I was thinking that my car would display 2 digit codes. i just found out that a '93 SHO has 3 digit codes. i can't believe that i missed this but atleast I know now.

anyway, it looks like 1 of the O2 sensors sensors is giving me the trouble. Which one is code 172 (Single, Right or Rear HO2S) referring to?

what is code 214 (error in Cylinder ID circuit or signal) referring to?

Oh yeah, Code 214 showed up on the KOEO, but not the KOER test.

Thanks.

I just fixed the 214. You need a new camshaft position sensor. I got mine from ford for $79 CAD, I think that's about $55 USD. That's the price you will find at most on-line dealers, so you may as well just get it from the dealership. Hopefully you have small hands, because unless you can get all of your power-steering hosing out of the way it's a tight fit. The sensor is almost against the firewall on the passenger side. When you see the replacement part, it's easy to spot. Make sure you have a 7/32" or 5.5 mil socket, and maybe some sort of universal joint or flexible shaft socket wrench to get in there. just pop it off, and put the new one right back in the same place. Dielectric grease to be safe, and you are good to go.

The part you need is:

#DU-47 or E9SZ12A112A

Good luck!

It is a "stored" or "continuous" code in your case.

The computer, at some recent time, detected a fault with the CID signal so it set the code for later retrieval. The error obviously did not occur during the time interval in which your KOER test was performed.
