what city is it officially in. i can't get a mapquest up. maybe if i just do the I 495/95 from richmond.... exit 33.. hmm... can you get me an exact address?

There's not really an address for it. If I had to say which city it's in I would say Kensington, MD.
For you Ashley I would take I-95 N. At Springfield VA take I-495 N toward Tyson's Corner. Cross into MD. At I-270 split stay right and continue I-495 W. Follow to exit 33, Connecticut Ave and make a left onto Conn. Ave at the bottom of the exit ramp.
Go to the second light and make a right on Beach Drive.

actually i found it is quicker to take 395 after tysons corner exit.... that goes right to 185 North / connecticut ave. north. and it has a roundabout..fun. but moving it from college park added 45 mins. to my drive damn you!!!! lol. it would add about and hour around the beltway if i go 270 split! yikes! I'll be there... can you PM me a phone # just in case though.. thanks.

uhhhh, it'll be saturday. You'll encounter more traffic downtown going 395. Just a suggestion.

why would she take 395? if your coming from the south you can still take 495 through alexandria. either way tho, you should go the 270 way (I.E. northwest on 495 from 95, clockwise, whatever you wanna call it)
btw ken, where exactly on beach drive? its kinda long and theres numerous picnic spots on that road. there is a few places on beach drive that have baseball, basketball, playgrounds, etc. that would be good

I was going to pretty much pick the spot as I got there because there are lots of them.
If you get there first feel free to pick one, but call me and let me know if you're gonna do that, it will prevent us from throwing 2 CSHOC BBQ's at the same time. lol
haha well i think other ppl will be there before me, but we know the area better. there is a park at the northwest end of beach dr. with playground basketball football futball (hehe) and parking lot. theres at least 3 more along the way down with the same stuff, and then the whole way down there are spots with small areas and picnic tables and grill. im voting for one of the parks because theres more space and REAL parking lots.

man I am so bummed. I didn't get out of work till 3 and was home by 4. Hit the road get on the NJ TP and bam taffic jam. Man I just gave up after that BS. Wish I could have made it. Damn work screwed me

Thank you to everyone that came out. It was a great time. A special thank you to Bill and his wife, Paul, Ashley and Johnathon who came from several hours away to attend.

hey everyone.. we made it home safe right around 1:30 or so.. it was a pretty quick drive home. lol. we had a good time... got a little drunk and it was all good. no cops on the way home, and john and i basically slept most of the way while paul drove us safely home we stopped a couple of time for an AMP and some DQ ice cream mmmm.... good stuff. I think i was still kinda drunk when i got up this morning. anywho we had a blast, and i am glad that so many people showed up, it is a waste to go and only have like 5 people there, so that was awesome. the cop was pretty cool about everything too, so that was double awesome. thanks again, and i left my chips and salsa stuff there, so i hope someone is enjoying them today, I don't think they were ever opened!!! thanks again you guys, we'll definitely be at the next one!!!

Had a great time meeting everyone: Ken, Adam, Tim(Nice Blk Gen3), Scott, and others(didnt quite get all the names)... I have to say, I had great time...
better than Carlisle, cause it wasnt so damn HOT!!! Thanks to Officer BOB for not arresting all of us :angelnot: And an even bigger Kudos for the whole gang being civil about it and obliging Officer Dan's request... Usually when you have a bunch of drunks and the cops show up, its bound to get ugly, BUT the CapitalSHO group and PGTgroup handled them selves very nicely. Nice bunch of folks and just an all around good time.... Thanks again

I have come to a comclusion that this has to be a multi year event LOL it was a great time and a great show of people interested in bringing both of our local forum members out and active again! thanks to everyone who made it!!!! WE WILL DO IT AGAIN and hopefully more people can make it out the next time!!
