hey Rob thanks for the feedback on the refresh job.

I pulled his tranny to figure out his massively bad 3rd gear grind. Figured that it was blocking ring related, and it was, so a full refresh of the tranny was in order. Form the breakdown of the friction material on all the blocking rings I have to think that at some point the tranny had gear oil put in or something like that. For the miles on the tranny, the material was black and peeling off in spots.

while i had the tranny down to refresh and replace the seals, I happend to notice a bent PP strap, slapped a SHOnut HD PP in there and am sure he'll enjoy running his car at Watkins Glen next month.

It drove me insane to test drive his car with no 3rd gear, it's just so natural to shift to 3rd :) Thankfully I didn't see any major damage in there, so he lucked out. Few more clutch jobs or tranny refreshes and I can even pay for a small scissor lift for my garage
