I bought the car like this the pegs are still in there I have pulled them out and pretty much used tons of super glue to hold the pegs on, but everytime I am messing around in the car hitting the the plastic peice breaks the pegs loose again. This hit is no harder than what hard shifting would be when the shifter taps the plastic. So what will actually make these hold and not break? My old 90 someone couldn't fix this problem so they stuck in these huge ugly screws and I defineatly don't want to do that.

Move to the back seat to mess around! **** haha. Try using jb weld, that should work better than super glue.

rofl Wrong kinda messing around, can't mess around with a non-moving car. I haven't had a SHO on the road for almost 2 months :( so messing around means sitting in drivers seat and running through the gears dreaming of when I get it on the road, hopefully thats in a week. So JB weld will hold you think?

If it doesn't work, use screws but countersink them and then cover them. The interior paint is still readily available.

Eric, if he countersinks the screws and then covers them, he will have to bondo/fill it in, and then paint it right? If not, the screws will still show, wont they?

Correct. I'm contemplating doing this on my 92 since the pegs are broken as well, and no cement I've found will hold them on for long.

Ah no bondoing because thats a textured surface and would make it look like @$$. If I go that route it'd be just counter sink black screws.

LOL, I suppose, but it still isn't gonna look right having counter sinked black screws would look more natural than anything but thats just what I think. Thats probably what I'll do if jb weld doesn't hold.

I bought a whole console for what you paid for your bezel! eek!

I eventually found the right one from the junkyard and am going to sell my whole console now. The only problem is that the one I found was for a cable shifter and I have the rod but who really cares... I'd also sell it to you but it's mocha. I WOULD pay Bizzy for the ad but just too lazy to try and put it up.
