Anyone ever broken a bolt on one of the Ingalls adjustable front strut mounts? I was in the process of torquing everything down and I had the torque wrench set to 30 lbs (the instructions say between 22 and 32 lbs). One of the bolts to mount the strut mount to the strut tower snapped! What do I do now? Any help is GREATLY appreciated! I wanna get this thing back on the road! Here's a pic...

I think your only option is to replace the mount. I personally would have used the bolts that were on the car, since they have a larger surface area to them.

Or just drive around with 2 bolts...you wouldn't be the only one.

I have the same mounts, and I'm trying to remember how those studs are captured... are they pressed into the mount? I'm pretty sure they're knurled or something.

You should be able to save the mount if you want. You could either look for a replacement knurled stud to press/hammer in, or you could use a through bolt and weld the hex to the underside of the mount. If you do this, remember to pay attention to clearance between the mount and the upper spring seat.

I got another mount on it's way. These are actually the same as the Moog adjustable mounts that Advance Auto sells. A friend of mine that works there told me to order the new mount (have to wait for it, no stores have it in stock) and when I get the new one in and the old one out, he'll return the broken one and I'll get my money back. I love having friends that don't mind helping me out from time to time. lol
