Is there a difference between gen 1 and gen 2? If not, I have an extra one laying on my table right now.

Yup. I have a Gen1-style boot and it definitely doesn't fit into the '93-'95 shifter surround piece without some heavy modification (aka hacksaw). Thanks anyway.
