I have a '93 daily driver. Located in New Jearsy so I do some cold starting through out the year. I don't underdrive pullys installed. Just looking for a long lasting strong battery.

My family and I have always had great experience with Interstate Batteries. Long life and plenty of cold cranking power all at a reasonable price.

Oops I posted in that thread which was "What battery do you have in your SHO". Here's what I said:

Best battery for the price is probably the Kirkland battery from Costco. You won't get the warm fuzzies for having something geewhiz neato like with the Optima but you might get some warm fuzzies when you think that you got a very good battery for dirt cheap.

Interstate traditionally makes very good batteries. Exides are good too. I think the Costco Kirkland batteries are made by Johnson Controls.

optima redtop and here is why. i am in the coast guard and we are not easy on our equipment. not for no reason, our equipment needs to work 100% of the time in every situation. we try to take care of things as best we can, and with stuff breaking i have seen somethings that i will never buy and only a few things that i would own the company. one being the optima red top. when i was stationed up in oregon we had a rhi (rigid hull inflateable boat) with 2 outboards. to start it there was an optima redtop. it was in there for around 3 years, when we transferred it to another unit we took off all of our equipment and we already had a replacement boat, with batteries!!, so i put the optima in my 83' 280zx. it was in there for about 2 years, then i got my sho. i wanted to put it the sho, but...a buddy needed a battery so he borrowed the optima and it is still in his jeep, now in massachusets for around 2 years. in the 3 years it was in the boat we never charged it, just let the outboard alts do that, and when it was in my z same thing. do i have on in my sho?? no waiting for the current battery to die.

I always go with the diehard gold if nothing else for the warranty. I may be wrong but I think their warranty is the best. 3 yr full replacement and 7 yr prorated. I have used it more than once...mostly due to my abusing the battery...letting it stay dead or overcharging. They replace it no questions asked.
