Ok...So I'm replacing the rocker panels and dog legs — and doing other patch work. Painting the insides of the rocker areas with POR-15 to help keep rust at bay.

When I pulled off the factory rocker panels, there was a goopy sticky pliable substance along the spot welded seam along the bottom — presumeably to keep water and dirt out.

Here's the question: When I spot weld on the replacements, what should I use to help seal the seam? Some kind of pliable epoxy? I'm unsure what product I'm looking for. Hoping somebody knowledable in autobody repair can point me to the right product.

Oddly enough, you've strayed dangerously close to the answer in your question! :bonk:

Seam Sealer would be what you would use. Should be able to find it at NAPA. :thumb:

Cool, thanks. Now i can go off to work on a positive note

My spot welder should be coming in tomorrow (Sears was clearin out the 115V for $279 — everyone else sells it for $400+ ). SO should be exciting.

OH, and I'm not buying a mig welder..hehe (cant spend too much $$$), borrowin that from a friend. Then I'll have to practice.....

Again, THANKS
