I wanted to introduce myself after reading guspech750's post. His story and mine are similar. I too have reviewed and driven most of the cars he mentioned. I also drove the supercharged Audi A6 3.0T, S4, and Infiniti M37x in the past 3 years. This is my wifes dd but I do love the car as well.

I just read on Jalopnik's Morning Shift where the title says "The Ford Taurus is dying and nobody cares". I do hope Ford builds a new Taurus in 2017 with the new Continental. Mainly talking about how the larger car sales in America are tanking due to crossovers. They had to throw in the "Fusion interior is bigger" comment as well which led to the great (sarcastic) comments section.

Anyway, I live near Peoria, Illinois. Home of the first SHO convention. Not sure how Peoria was chosen for that. I picked up a CPO 2013 non PP tux black SHO on July 4th. I drove 3.5 hours to pick it up at a Ford dealership on the east side of Indianapolis, Indiana. That was awesome picking up a quick Chicago built car on July 4th and driving it home.

I have enjoyed reading almost every new post on this forum since I have owned the car. Lots of great knowledge and advice. The car is stock. So nothing special yet when it comes to this forum. Overall to me and my wife the SHO won out over the German and Japanese competitors. A few of the many reasons is due to cheaper mainenance costs. We both have liked the look of the SHO since it was reintroduced in 2009 as a 2010 model. The price point with all of the features you get on the SHO is great for a used CPO. I also like the engine tuning and upgrade options.

We are very happy with the car and our decision to purchase the car over the others.

Welcome aboard!

I love reading stories about how the SHO is hanging with the likes of 20k+ cars and getting the nod.

Best of luck with the new purchase, and you've stumbled into one of the better sets of enthusiasts/crazies around...lol

Enjoy the SHO. Have any missing TSB's applied. Find a good Ford dealer. Get it tuned. You'll have years of satisfaction.

Thanks guys. There is a lot to like about this car. If it was my daily driver I would have it tuned already as I love tinkering with cars. I actually and finally talked my wife into getting out of her Highlander Hybrid into a larger sedan which again was this car. As I mentioned above, it took a few years, but I love cars and I had fun doing the research. I will definately do some things to it at some point as I get to drive it on the weekends. We have not had a "fun" car that I can tinker with since 2012 when I sold my Camaro. Bought it in 2004 as a project. Lots of sweat equity in that car, but it was nice when I was finished with it. I sold it as I only drove it on nice days (mainly cause the stupid t tops still leaked after applying new seals, and I did not like water spots in the black paint haha) and I never drove the car during the summer of 2012 because we had our first daughter so she kept me busy. So I figured I did not need the Camaro anymore. I do dd a 2010 Avalanche LTZ that I thought about adding a supercharger kit, but this SHO will be more fun.

Great point about getting the TSB's taken care of. I have been trying to upload pics of the SHO and my project Camaro I had, but the file size on those pics is 1.5mb and higher. I will figure out how to post them eventually. Thanks again.

Another good site for pics where you don't have to sign up or register is www.tinypic.com Most of the pics I've put on there are several MB's.

Thanks for the web sites. I decided to play with a photo resizer app on my phone and that worked well.

Did not want to turn this into a Camaro forum, the above Camaro pics are of my project car. About the only thing original was the body and glass it seemed like after 8 years of ownership. It was a real B4Z 87 Iroc Z28. I think after 88 they were Iroc Z's only and they dtopped the Z28 name. I chose this car because everyone had fox body Mustangs in my hometown so I wanted something different eventhough I love the fox body Mustang. It had a 350 crate engine installed. Lots of go fast goodies. ****** headers, Flowmaster exhaust. Ported and polished plenum. New suspension and lowered obvously.

The black was faded which is why I had it at a friends shop to have it resprayed. The second pic was after the respray and the correct wheels and pin striping according the the codes. The last three pics are what it looked like before I sold it with the suspension upgrades. People liked that car because you do not see many in that good of shape anymore so it was a fun car. The last pic is of my wifes new car. Do not have a good pic of it yet.

Haha. I do miss it. I wanted to mostly keep the stock appearance with modern parts underneath. Haha. I have a new toy to play with now. It was a weird few years though with her Highlander hybrid. I was reading about MPG's and understanding how the hybrid system worked, which was interesting. Hypothetically, trying to figure out how many more batteries to add to make it run longer without using fuel...blah blah blah. Not as exciting as adding HP. I am an engineer so I try to learn everything I can and try to make it better. Glad I have something new to learn and tweak and more my style.
