Cobras do fit on the front. You have to get 17 inch wheels for them to fit or customize your caliper.

do it....you'll love it!

I finished mine last night and LOVE them, also mine are 12.5 rotors so they fit under slicers. I just have a custom bracket ;)

Few questions...just to clarify.

1)Will a 13" Cobra rotor, caliper, and caliper bracket will fit on a SHO?
2)Does this apply to all Gen2 models??
3)Does the rotor need to be redrilled for the SHO bolt pattern or are there 13" SHO bolt pattern rotors???

Thanks, Mike

1) not without going with 17" wheels.
2) it applies to all Gen 1 and 2 Taurii
3) rotor needs to be redrilled to fit Taurus. Taurus = 108mm (5x4.25") Mustang = 5x4.5"

I know you already have them since you have the 96 upgrade, but for other people reading this thread don't forget that you have to have the 94-95 knuckles in you have a 89-93.

You can also fit Cobras onto 11.6" rotors so your slicers will fit over the combo. You have to drill the bracket holes .7 of an inch back from where they are. You also have to machine down the mounting surfact a little bit. I did my machining with a grinder.

This is what I am wanting to do to my '97 with OEM parts right now, So I use my orignal rotors and brackets but need to make the bracket fit the caliper?

You use the original Rotors with your 97, but you need to modify the Cobra brackets. The 96 upgrade brackets are not meant for the job. The Cobra brackets are made for 13" rotors. Bu re drilling the mounting holes and re threading them you effectivley move the caliper inward, allowing for a smaller rotor size.

I believe there are fixed calipers available as a direct bolt on for Cobras of those years...

Can these also be modified to fit the SHO or can only the floating calipers be modified?

I just hate the thought of spending extra cash on floating calipers. Porsche Monobloc Brembos spoil you!

I know, that's whay I said that there are direct bolt-ons available for the Cobras and I didn't want to spend the extra dough on the regular Cobra brakes. I just figured if the stock Cobra breaks could be retro fitted to the SHO, why not an aftermarket fixed caliper for the Cobras to an SHO?

I have the '96 upgrade, but I don't feel that it's all that great. I much prefer fixed calipers.

so the amount you shave off the bracket, it's to get rid of the raised boss that held the original hole, right? That's what I could see in the pictures.
