Welcome! I also have a 92 Silver that is a part time daily driver (when my other green 94 isn't running). Is this your first SHO?

the 91 is in pretty rough shape but has strong motor and tranny and some good parts left on her has the sub-frame clunk not sure if I want to just turn that into a weekend warrior or just keep for parts since it getting harder to find parts for them.

no, I had a oxford white 91 back when I was 18, currently I have a 91 oxford white plus, and now the silver 92

So it looks like there are some mods on the 92, how loud are the magnaflows?

Are the side 24V badges metal or plastic? I have an early 92 that came with metal badges and was wondering when they changed those over to plastic.

Pretty sure they are metal. I'll have to take a closer look but they don't look to be plastic.as for the mods it has a jet preformance chip, BBB's, large mass air flow sensor not sure if it's 73mm or 80mm though, has home made cold air intake but do to location it's more like a hot air intake also Koni adjustable struts with eibach springs. It's sounds good pretty throaty. Need to get the hi flow cat y pipe from shosource has factory cat and y pipe right now unfortunately. Runs good think I need new IAC valve it's doing that bouncing idle crap. Came with lots of maint records. Guy that sold it to me builds cars out of a small garage gave me a 90 day warranty on it coving all except diff pin and motor mounts. This one is pretty early also was assembled in april of the 92 production run

Sounds like you got a pretty good buy with all the mods that are on the car, especially in the condition it is in. With all those intake side mods, I'm surprised a Y-pipe wasn't already on it. My car was a Jan 92 build.

Ya pretty decent buy I ended up paying 4k for her really didn't want to pay over 3500 but a older guy owned the car and pretty much babied it was originally a Texas car I'm the third owner 2nd owner didn't put many miles on it. The guy I bought it from took the mods off a 93 sho that he was scrapping out. Was debating if I wanted to go catress because we have a great exhaust shop in my town but don't want to lose low end torque. You have any thing done to any of your sho's?

Other than regular maintenance, my 92 so far only has a monroe/eibach set up and subframe connectors. I have a lot of parts (quaife, Shosource lightweight flywheel, sho shop y pipe, big bore butterflys, extrude hone intake, Pro M MAF, koni/eibach, etc.) waiting to go on the car, just trying to find the time to do it. I am planning to swap out my door handles with silver painted versions from the 94/95 year cars.

Oh ya that's the other thing mine has the honed and extruded intake. Are the quaife differentials still available that is deff some I want to do. Also want to get the big plug wires and coil pack from shosource but like you I also have a hard time finding time between work and the kids.

Quaife trannys haven't been made for awhile, but used ones pop up every so often from other owners selling them. There is also the wavetrac that was made later and from what I hear, is better than the quaife. Those pop up once in awhile as well, not sure if Josh at Shonut Performance has any left. You can try emailing him or Shosource.

Are the pretry hard to install? I'm no certified mechanic but I like working on my own stuff as much as I can. Is there a better chip or a way to tune these with out the tweecer? Just wondering if there is a better chip then the jet preformance one that is in my sho? Do you know of anyone that has any sturt tower braces they would part ways with? I put a posting in the wanted section just thought I would ask

I had Mike at Shosouce install mine awhile back. He's done them before and has the shim tool. Most quaife or wavetracs that come up for sale are already installed in a tranny. I bought a new one from someone here on the forum and had to have it installed in a tranny.

Maybe someone else here can reply on your chip question or tuner question. As far as strut tower braces, Mike was working with Keystone powder coating on trying to get parts from them again. You can try contacting him or his son Ryan on his Shosource email.

Ya right on man I seen the braces on the keystone website they wanted like $150 a piece was just trying to possibly find a cheaper set. I guess I'll have to keep my eye out for a tranny with one installed. Hey and thanks for letting me pick your brain some. It's been like 15 years since I've had one of these cars so I have to kind of relearn some of the craft. Your sho should rip pretty good after you get the mods installed. Send me some pics when you get it done. I want to get mine up to 300+hp. And hope the diff pin holds lol
