Purchased a 23 mm rear sway bar and the pushings to go along with it a few weeks ago and just got around to installing them this weekend. When I went to put the bushings on the bar I noticed their diameter seemed much larger than the bar. Does this look correct or did they possibly send me a bar smaller than what I wanted? I have a inexpensive caliper to measure the diameter bar and its reading more like 20mm than 23. Thanks!

Hmmm... Well it actually looks/feels slightly bigger than the 19mm I pulled out from there. Bushings are definitely correct as they are stamped with 23mm right on them.

Assuming your caliper is even close to right, that is a 19. They often do look a bit bigger due to rust and/or tape, but calipers do not lie and the bushings, apparently correctly for a 23, confirm that. Installed they should be tight to the bar. Its a 19. Time to get your money back.

I had a hard time finding bushings for my 23 mm rear bar. I tried a bunch of different bushings from NAPA and I gave up. I ended up using a 26 mm bushing on it and it was sloppy. I finally got 23 mm bushings from Josh at SHOnut this year before the convention and he even installed them (what a nice guy).

It does look like you don`t have the right bar. Did you compare the new bar to the old barÉ (that`s supposed to be a question mark).

Yeah I'm pretty much resigned to it being the wrong bar. Just waiting to hear back from where I got it. When I compare what was there originally to what I was sent the new one does seem slightly larger and more solid. However Stephen seems to think that may be due to rust and the tape. Whatever the case may be the new one definitely doesn't seem to be a 23 mm.

The bar on the picture is not a 19mm stock bar, neither a 23mm bar; for the looks of it I could swear that it is a 20.5mm (that size bar comes in the 93-95 atx shos)
Hope that info helps and I will say: get your money back.

Well, since the calipers seem to read about 19, my guess is its a 19, but as we are all agreed it is obviously not a 23, I guess that really does not matter much.
