Hello everyone. I bought my 2014 SHO non-pp new back in December. I have been trying to refrain from upgrading since I also have a completely modded '93 Mustang. I have accepted that refraining isn't possible.

So.... Now i'm ready to do this but I have tons of questions and i'm sure most of them have already been asked, but I have read a few hundred threads and comments and it's all becoming giberish at this point.

1. How much of a game changer is it that my sho isn't pp?

2. I have read the debates about who's tunes are better than who's between LMS and Unleashed. I just want to know the pro's and con's of each one and what I can expect out of each.

3. The downpipes aren't an issue because I already know that i'm purchasing them.

4. How do the H&R springs look on the car? I don't want it bouncing all over the place looking rediculous like the imports riding around.

5. The catback systems available for the sho seems extremely over priced, so is there a specific muffler that has a little growl but nothing like my catless mustang?

6. I plan on doing the W/M injection at some point but I want to get the less expensive upgrades done first. Is this possible when buying a tune first?

7. I have the 2.77 drive train verses the 3.16. Is this something that can or should be changed?

8. With the above mentioned upgrades what kind of horsepower/torque can i expect as well as 1/4 times? Also recomendations are appreciated. I'm sure that I'm missing something somewhere????

Thanks guys for your time and experience in advance,

Bobby

Welcome to the forum, Bobby, and congrats on your SHO! Whereabouts in MD? Modding is an infectious disease, it only requires a bit of time to spread :)

To the best of my knowledge:

1. The PP gives the SHO an advantage in launch, somewhat faster 1/4 mile times, etc. The main reason to get the package is for the upgraded cooling package for the trans AND a temp-monitored PTU. You do lose some of the niceties of the non-PP version though, like ACC.

2. You'd be happy with either tuner's results. It really depends on whether you like going to a "brick & mortar" business like LMS or you are fine doing business over the internet as with Unleashed.

3. What downpipes are you going with? Catted or catless don't make much difference performancewise, may be a bit of difference in sound.

4. H&R springs look great on the car, and ride great. Many happy owners. Definitely helps fill that wheel gap and even out the rake of the car.

5. You might be happy with a 3rd cat delete and keeping the stock catback otherwise. You could also put on just mufflers and that would give you a bit more sound as well. More comparisons here: http://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php/topic,2462

6. Yes, meth can be added later, and the tune updated to compensate. Just keep the tuner apprised of your current mods.

7. Nah, don't worry about it. Instead focus on better tires, better brake pads, much better payoff.

Thanks, SHOdded. I live in Southern Maryland. Calvert County to be exact. I'm not sure of the downpipes. I'm still researching them but from what I can see from this forum is that there is a ton of back pressure created by the factory ones. Any suggestions?

There are 2 downpipes that currently pass emissions: one from Ecopowerparts.com (PPE brand), and one from LMS. I think both use the newest Magnaflow cats. You may have luck from Stainless Works, but results are mixed with theirs.

Welcome!

For #1 There is a definite advantage off the line and with cooling of critical systems. But unless your at the track it's not a big game changer. (But I'm happy mine has it!)

For#5 I just had the rear mufflers replaced last week with Magnaflows and they sound great. It's a really low growl without the drone. Not too obnoxious but definitely noticeable. (They are the same 5 x 8 x 14 in. mufflers used in their cat back system #15769)

Good luck with everything. These cars are a lot of fun.

Welcome, great questions and most covered via the links Shodded gave.
If you plan on buying a package let me know I'll see what I can work up for you.

To me, the performance package is more about handling than straight line performance. The only option you can't get on a PP car is adaptive cruise control, which is useless to me. I have it on my EB Flex and never use it.

To the OP, I live in central MD. I'm running an Unleashed tune, PPE catted downpipes, and H&R springs on my 2014 PP SHO if you're interested in how these mods feel on the road.

Welcome Bobby! Trying not to mod these cars is tough! Took me only 1700 miles until I got my tune.
To the rest that have the H&R Springs, I'm curious to know how that looks. I too, have a 2014 PP.

i feel like having a non pp car i would have to retrofit those pp cooling systems to my car before i felt safe tuning it. I like how BPD got the cop ones id like to look into that for myself.
