Thanks man I ordered them and they're for standard. I'll check the sockets tomorrow but was hoping someone had already done it and had the info I needed... Ordered all exterior bulbs except for reverse lights, I couldn't find a solid answer as to what led bulb goes into the 2011 Taurus sho reverse lights

I just installed LED back up lights in my 2013 an hour ago. Waiting for night to see how well they work, I went with the projector style like I have on my Mitsu and they're advertised as 6000k Super white, but the seemed to have the blue tint that I dislike, we'll see when it's dark. Seems to be hard to find anything in the 5000-5500k range that's more of a pure white range typically but you never really know the actual color until they're installed.

Edit-These are what I installed, LED's around the outside and has the projector lense.

Color is white at night and they're plenty bright but I'm not sure they work as well as on my other car due to the lense/reflector design on the SHO. On the good side, they'll definitely keep folks in the parking lots from driving or walking behind the car when you have it in reverse.

After using them for a week I'd have to say it's definitely a plus especially with the camera. I have tinted windows so I was looking for all the light I could get, and lets face it, normally the rear viewing other than the camera sucks. As time passes I may play with other brands and designs to see which nets the most light but these aren't bad. They're also easy to change out as you just need to pop out the corner trunk lid fabric retainers to access and replace.

5min total. Take the fabric that covers the trunk lid loose in the corners in the area of the back up lights and it gives you access to the socket. Twist to remove and replace the bulb. (essentially 2 or 3 push pins on each side of the fabric is all you need to remove)

Alright... So I replaced all my exterior lights with LED's... On my 2011 Taurus SHO the lights had standard sockets.. The only lights that required resistors were the turn signals to stop the hyper flash, so if the car is CANBUS equipped (the ability to tell you that a light is out) it wasn't effected by changing the bulbs... Also there was some concern about it possibly effecting the adaptive cruise control when switching the brake lights to LED's but that's also false... After changing the bulbs I made it sure it continues to work correctly ... And last Sylvania lists the wrong bulb for the reverse lights they are NOT 5008 they are PH16W... hope that helps everyone
