Just wanted to post a quick note to tell of my experience upgrading my brakes. I have a 2011 non-PP SHO and had been thinking about doing the brakes. I have a 40 mile commute, mostly highway with a good measure of slow/stop and go. Invariably, either because someone jumped in front of me or because the guy ahead can't measure distance, I am planting on the binders for a hard stop and heating the brakes. I had developed a shimmy under high speed braking and figured I had warped the front rotors.

After digging around this site and doing a little research, I decided to put Power Stop drilled and slotted rotors with the Evolution Z17 pads on all 4 wheels. I am pleased and impressed, and they look great. I do believe that I have at least 20% better stopping power.

Definitely a worthwhile upgrade, and not much more that OE brakes. In fact RockAuto.com is the way to go. I bought the rear pads and rotors locally and spent about $50 more. I bought the fronts off of RockAuto.com and even with shipping saved about $40 over buying local. I never buy auto parts online but this time I tried it and they did not disappoint. BTW, the Z17 is not a typo. They are offering both Z16 and Z17 pads, with rotors for both PP and non-PP SHO's.

FWIW, I was also impressed with the Evolution pads. They fit like a glove and didn't require any "fitting" of the backing plate as seems so common with most of the pads I've used lately. Also, pay attention to the included "Break-in Procedure" sheet included with the pads.

I can post a pic or two if anyone would like to see.
Happy motoring, and remember, the "SHO" must go on!

Thanks guys. I'll get pics up in a couple days, I am out of Dodge for some R & R at the moment and we are in my wife's car.

Experience so far is very good. The rears have been on two weeks, the fronts for one week. Braking is considerably better, with more braking per unit of pedal force than before. Under hard(er) braking I can kind of feel/hear the holes/slots in the rotors, but under normal conditions there is no difference in pedal feel or sound, just better, more positive braking. And no dust so far either, these are ceramic.

Will post pics soon, thanks!

I did the same set-up last May. Have 3500 miles on them and still working great. Pads are ceramic so no brake dust. Rotors wearing evenly. Pick with my ID.

as promised, pics

Good evening. Thanks integrity6987 for sharing your experience. Good to know they've been trouble free. I'm expecting the same out of mine.

I have attached a couple of pictures as promised. With the wheels on the rotors are somewhat hidden but I think you get the idea.
