Hey all,
Just wanted to introduce myself. Been a fan of the SHO since 89, when my dad nearly bought one, but decided to keep his Z24 (MT) Hatchback (that he rode out another 20 or so years). Been raised on sleepers my whole life (the dad owned GTOs, and various other racecars), and when it finally came time to buy myself a viable people carrier, well, there were no decent American sleepers on the market so I bought an S60R.
All was well and good until...
My wheel spun at 55mph. *BARELY* missed the wall... started to realize 163k and 9 years + no warranty were making my car almost as expensive to own as a new car...
Once the LOLVO died, it was time to begin the search for a proper replacement, but, what do you get to replace a 300hp/AWD beast of a sleeper with all the luxuries that a high end Volvo brings? Well, Enterprise rented me a 2013 Taurus Limited, and it was decent.. but the gas pedal was a little softer than I preferred, and the butt dyno didn't agree with the lack of torque, however.. it got me thinking... This Taurus is the baby brother to the big bad new SHO. Let's check those out!
Obviously, since I'm posting here, we can skip to 2 weeks and a stack of paperwork later... Here she is:

I was pricing out new ones, found a few great 2013 demo cars at local dealerships that were White (my preferred color) and one had PP where the other had every other option (including the 20s) but, coming in at 40-43k (pre-tax/title/etc) for a new one with 4 or 8k miles and I don't get any extension on the warranty got me looking at used.
I found this 2011 with 16k on the clock with CPO for 36. I got them to 32, added in a $1200(talked that down too) 6yr/100k Premiumcare on top of the CPO/remainder of the stock warranty, and traded in the LOLVO. Saved 15k over new, and got a better warranty. Win/win!
