My daughter bought a 1998 SHO last summer. It has a battery drain that was diagnosed by my long-time shop as one of the following circuits: C242, C237, C2044 and/or C250. Any help would be much appreciated. I am a longtime Ford guy and Mustang owner.

That is my first best guess also.
When ICP's go bad, is it possible to replace w/ an ICP from a non-SHO assuming you can find one in a junkyard? Also, are there differences in which ICP years are compatible?

Yes, you should be able to use one from a regular Taurus as long as it has the same features. Match part numbers if possible. Online Ford catalog shows 96 to 99 used the same part. Of course, the part is discontinued.

"Also, are there differences in which ICP years are compatible?" I've owned MYs '96 through '98. The '96 & '97 harness connections are different from the '98's (I assume '99s are the same as '98s). The electrical system as a whole changed between '97 and '98, and the ICP is one component of many affected.
