1993 3.2L (P) intermitting CEI, pulled codes. Get 177 & 176. Scanner tells me its O2 sensor "bank 2" allways rich or not switching. Book says 177 & 176 refers to front or left side O2 sensors. Front being cylinders 4,5 & 6 or front of engine nearest the radiator. Am i right , Front being cloest to the radiator. Can injectors cause a rich running fault.

thanks

RE: code

I'm certain that its a bad O2 sensor or wiring associated with it. My question was the scanner says "bank 2" Where is bank 2/ Code list in Chlitons says that 176 & 177 is O2 sensor front or left. I think bank one is cyl. 4,5&6. or the front of the motor. Can anyone confirm this.

Thanks

Yes, the front bank is 4, 5, and 6. Another way to think about it is that the accesory end of the engine is the front end. That would make it the left side as well.

You could swap the sensors around to see if the code switches to the rear.

Re: 176 & 177

Thanks PAracer; thats what I was looking for. The back O2 in an ATX is a bear to get at. So I'll follow all the wireing from the front O2 back to the PCM. If it looks good I'll juts throw a new on in.

thanks again
