low idle

My 93 taurus sho mtx has a low idle around 700 rpm when warmed up to normal operating temperature I was also wondering if I can get codes if the check engine light isn't on?

So it hasn't died the last few days it actually runs great but when it warms up it has a low idle around 700 rpm could that be the cps failing and where is it located ?

I have a 93 sho mtx and the problems all started one night coming home I was driving down the road and my car just shut off and wouldn't start for about 10 min it would just crank over but would not start then when it did on my way back home it died again but then I was able to turn key and...
