    ...after removing the cluster, inspection led to finding that the printed circuit is deteriorating near the top... Not sure if this is the entire problem, but I'm sure it's contributing.

    After many hours of befuddlement on the situation I think I finally found the problem. I finally realized I could lower the steering column by removing the 2 lower column braces and loosening the 4 bolts retaining the column to the dash structure. I only loosened these and avoided completely...

    No Tach, no fuel gauge, suggestions?     It definitely needs recharged, but there could be more to it. I do suspect there is a leak somewhere. It didn't work when I bought the car and I honestly never really cared enough to investigate it much more. It does blow air slightly cooler than ambient, but not by much.

    SHOs can be quick, no doubt about it, but I think some of us may have emotionally biased ideas of our cars abilities. AWD DSMs cut sub 2.0 60ft times right out of the box on snow tires... on a track it's not likely gonna happen, but on the freeway (which I do not condone) you might do better...
