    Basic tune-up?

The car does have a miss. So I have to pull the intake anyway. If I have time pulling the valve covers is no big deal to at least check the clearance. The intake has never been off the car in 170k so it is time to check it all over. And I may as well weld the cams if I go that far anyway.

    Basic tune-up?

Hoping you v8 guys can lend a hand here. I have to do a tune up on my cousins 98 SHO. And was wondering if the valve shims needed are the same as for the v6's? Also does anyone have a picture of a before and after shot of welded cams? Thank you in advance.... Thad

    TwinCharger???

No you wouldnt have the same problem. A pair of EVO 3 16g's would work fine. They would still spool fast, but not have the problem of T-25's and not be able to flow past 4500. They are great turbo's! A T-25 is honestly junk unless you want to boost a Civic. They are just too small for any SHO...

    TwinCharger???

Personally I would use whats called a EVO 3 16g turbo. Can handle making boost all theway to 7k. Is cheap, around $550. And is easily available. These turbo's have made over 400 wheel horse on DSM's so they are proven already. A pair of those on a SHO motor would have awesome response and...

    TwinCharger???

Yes, a T-25 is so small that with 3 litres of SHO motor it would be very close to making positive boost right off idle. Even in 2g DSM's that come with the T-25 they are making positive boost sooner than you would think. The downside is that they are too small to flow anything past 4500 rpm...

    TwinCharger???

For the record.....a T-25 turbo on a SHO 3.0 or 3.2 motor would spool in the 500 rpm range not 2k. On a 2 litre motor a T-25 spools under 2k. Just a fyi.

    Back in the game

Pics of the Galant I can do as soon as I get them from home, and get to work with high speed. Probably the only car that has a sleeper status that blows a SHO away. Anyway the Galant VR-4 was 20G powered, with all supporting mods, I never got it to a dyno but it was easily puting down 420 plus...

    Back in the game

No sorry my 92 is a red and gray combo. But one of the cleanest I've seen! No pics yet, after I get my ported and painted intake on with the 60k done I will post some up. Thanks for the warm welcome. Its nice to be back, after playing with DSM's for years and finishing with a consistant mid...

    Back in the game

Hey guys, My name is Thad, thought I would post a hello. I have been out of the SHO game for years, but found a very clean 92 that I picked up for 2300. Some of the "old timers" from Wisconsin may remember me. But hello, and hope I can be of some assistance on this forum.
