    February 29th Meet!!

Wow...an actual bonafide quote from the movie "Roadhouse." That's as rare as catching flys with chopsticks. <small>[ February 27, 2004, 09:50 AM: Message edited by: Mans442 ]</small>

Need pic of Hood Strut Relocator kit

Many thanks. :) The car is good. It's paid off, hitting 13s in the quarter mile, sprays ten feet of purge out of the grille at stop lights :D I need to upgrade a few suspension stuff, such as outer tie rod endlinks. I had hoped to get to the FSTB yesterday, but the weather was poor...

    Oil in valley

Do you have oil on top of the spark plug rubber at the holes, or just on the inside of the wells? Odds are (regardless) you will need new valve cover gaskets.

    Dripping a little green blood

I suspect it is your radiator. The intermittent leak could be from the bottom of the rad, and as is physically moves around while driving, the leak becomes more prevalent. Check to see if it is mounted tightly to all of its brackets, etc. You can try the Bars Stop Leak stuff, but I have never...

    Warning!

I have dealt with them a bit as well. I went over there pick up a used starter for Mark Nunnally "loaner" car and to see if I can pick up a few crank bolts for Fred. The older man who runs the car sales is the typical plaid coat wearin' guy. He wanted $10 a piece a bolt plus $25 dollar labor...

Probably the worst grenading I've seen in a SHO yet...

Good gravy.. That's looks effin' cool though! So what busted piece was causing the dipstick from going into the oil pan?

    Camshaft sensor?

Autozone has the cam sensor (part # F134) for $30.00. A worthwhile sensor to replace, along with the crank sensor. They both tend to fail after 6-8 years. The DIS should be changed only as a last resort. My car began to act up on Monday. Severe bucking/surging idle with backfiring/stumbling...

    Check Engine Light w/ code

Scott & Steve- Thanks for the link. I will give it a try, but I admit I am a bit confused at first glance. I assume the test light will flash the codes, but how will a voltmeter register the signals?

    Check Engine Light w/ code

Well, the problem reoccurred this morning, and sustained itself for a longer period of time. I was cruising along the highway, felt the car begin to buck and surge, so I turned around and headed home again. I drive most of the way in 2nd gear because the bucking was very rough at lower RPMs...

    Check Engine Light w/ code

Thanks for the responses. It was only a one time thing---the car is starting and driving normal now (which makes me nervous). Hopefully it will stay that way. I will clean the IAB and probably replace the CID sensor in the near future.

    Check Engine Light w/ code

Hey all- I had an incident yesterday morning that I thought I would post. The responses will determine whether I take the car on a long trip this week. The car began a cycling/surging idle at a stoplight. The CE light came on, so I pulled over to inspect the motor. The idle still was...

On my 4th alternator in 1 1/2 years????

Who is the manufacturer of the alterator(s)? I am on my second NAPA alternator in two months. When I went back to the store to get the replacement unit, the salespersons asked: "Is this for a SHO?" After I responded, he mentioned that he has seen a lot of problems with aftermarket SHO...

    Stickers under hood

Those plastic shrouds get pretty torn up and ratty over the years. Pull it off and remove all the stickers and plastic with a heat gun and a putty knife. Careful not to melt the actual shroud. Then replace with tasteful stickers like "SUPER STREET" and "BAD AZZ BOYZ DRIVE BAD AZZ TOYZ"...

I haven't seen an all-black 90 that mint since....1990!! Slick ride... Jason Mansfield

SHO prize to the first who accurately diagnoses my no start problem!!

Interesting ideas. AutoSHO: I was just discussing that possibility this morning with someone. When we re-installed the CPS, one of the mounting bolts broke off. It needed to be drilled out and a new bolt re-installed in the hole. It is possible the CPS moved a bit to cause the problem...

SHO prize to the first who accurately diagnoses my no start problem!!

Hi all- Let's have some fun with my extremely frustrating car problem. I have a no-start problem that is seemingly electrical in nature. Let me explain the situation and background a bit. I was driving back to NE from upstate NY after having Mark Nunnally superbly install my killer IPT...

    Battery LIght On, Help?

Your alternator is dying. Pick up a new one before it is too late. Good luck, Jason M.

    What did he do?

Fred...always the punk-wiseguy, eh? :) Yes..the one in the photo is about 10 months old. Plus the car has never seen winter, therefore they both remain fairly clean. There is a good techniques on www.shotimes.com that tells you how to clean them. It works well on my previous 1992 SHO...
