    Shawn and the Sucky Diff

Maybe you should know the full story before you're "appalled" at the SHO communities reaction. Everytime Shawn posts, the story changes or the blame is shifted on someone or something else. As long as he doesn't have to fess up and say "I f*ucked up" everything will be ok? Being innovative...

Vendor PROBLEM EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE THIS!

Pardon me, new to the forum, but not new to the SHO. If you indeed knew that the diff was the weak link, why did it take you this long to stop selling the unit? You have been selling them for a few years and they have been failing for a few years. Couldn't you have saved some people some...

What does it mean if you have to press the gas pedal to get the car to start?

Perhaps it's different in the later years. My 94' Helms manual states that 450 rpm is the magic number that tells the computer the engine is running.

    Availability of synchros ?

They are quite scarce. The free kit that SHO Shop is including isn't a trans rebuild kit, just a Quaife install kit, with shims and items like that to help you install your new differential. For used transmission parts you may try Al fitz (www.alfitz.com) Good luck and enjoy your new car!

    A TRUE Plus?

Actually, if SHOtimes says that the plastic hood was part of the 211A (Plus) package, then they are wrong. The plastic hood was found on a few 90's and a fair amount of 91's. The plus package consisted of the following: - Body colored trim (Including GFX trim and "Taurus" Logo) - Black side...

    A TRUE Plus?

Take a look at the mirrors in this auction. Did they look like this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6777&item=2407730035&rd=1

    A TRUE Plus?

The Plus mirrors I have here are matte black Gen I mirrors that look nothing like my Gen II mirrors. Is this a fluke?

    Confusion on codes, no symptoms

Mike, The code only indicates that at one time, if only for one second, the crank sensor did not supply the EEC with a code. Try reseting your codes, driving the car for a couple of days, and running them again. Also, keep an eye on the tach. If it ever drops and pops back up, this would...

    need help with fuel pump.....

I have found that rather than cutting the metal tube and removing it's ******, that I can just cut an appropriate sized piece of flexible tubing and the pump fits just fine. I've done this on 3 seperate occasions. Has anyone else tried this method?

    Loud grinding/pulley noise

You may also try taking a long screw driver and sticking it on the accessories with the engine running (Be careful). Listen for the noise through the handle of the screwdriver.

Another question, engine compression testing, sitting motor

Denny, Simply install a starter motor on the motor. That will allow you to turn it over with enough speed to get some compression readings. Additionally, there is assembly oil that you can pick up at Pep Boys that we use when building new engines or, if you have the valve covers off, you...

    Probable VSS Problem

No you don't have to remove the Y Pipe. (It can be done with access from the right wheel well) However, if you have the 5 piece Y pipe I am assuming you haven't had it that long and wil be easier to remove. Removing it does make the job easier. Good luck.

    Probable VSS Problem

The VSS system for lack of a better term sucks. The computer will not indicate a code for the VSS until it doesn't receive any signal from it. This means that if your VSS is providing an innacurate signal (99% of all vss failures) that the computer will think nothing is wrong. This makes...

    Cam wear/valve shim question

Denny, I'm curious as to what you are doing. Are you replacing the motor in that car? It spun the rod bearings, yes? I hope those cams are going into a 3.2 head or at least a 3.0 head on a 3.2 block. :)

engine shaking- new plug wires-seems serious (update)

If it's turning over and firing as you are turning the key off and it's popping occasionally, I would remove the upper timing belt cover and check the location of the cam sprockets in relation to the crank. It sounds as if you may be slightly out of time. The clutch problem is something...
