Well I just bought that video from shonut performance and am saving up for some new parts and making room in the shed for my winter project. I figure while Im at it I might as well put in a new exhuast, some new plugwell and valve cover gaskets to fix my oil leak, maybe polish the intake, and...
Well I switched over from the 93 mtx to the 93 atx for the winter so I can work on a few things including the clutch linkage. I was wondering if anyone has had experience droping the tranny in an mtx and how hard it was to change the clutch themselves. I have done it on a ford pickup and a...
I have had problems with my clutch since I bought my car at about 80k miles, now it has over 100 on it and I have adjusted the clutch cable several times but it has always been on the stiff side. This morning the pedal seemed excessivley stiff and the car would barely start because of the clutch...
My 92 mtx with 85,000 has been having issues ever since I installed new summit cats. Sometimes when it hasn't been running for a while I will go to cold start it and it cranks like 20 times before turning over. Its almost like theres not enough gas because i need to pump the pedal to get it...
It was the hoses, I just thought it was weird that they both failed at the same time. Now I wont have to scrape around under my car to replace all the rear brakelines; thanks for the help. :thumb:
Well the hose wasnt bad when I swapped calipers but for 15 bucks ill geve it a shot I guess. Ill try putting a jack under the strut and see if that fixes my problem first, but i did this before and never had a problem doing while the car was suspended.
I am a new owner of a 1993 MTX and I replaced the rear caliper and today when i tried to bleed it no fluid came out!! I have done this to a 93 atx without any difficulties but now I cant seem to get the fluid flowing to the right rear. I was wondering if maybe i bled the left side first then...
I just pulled the timing cover off and discovered what some of you knew already, that the timing belt was really lose becuase the tensioner wasnt doing its job. I was wondering,, it looks like the tensioner is tightened by a plunger from under the pulley? How do you adjust/tighten this, Or do...

The cam sprockets and chain tensioners are located on the upper part of the engine, driver's side. -- The noise is coming from the passenger side of the engine so i dunno if there is a chain on that side? I took the cover off once before to put new spark plug gaskets in but didnt really pay...
I have a 93 atx that has 180,000 miles on it. Within the last 1,000 miles I have been hearing a softer tapping/knocking noise coming from the right side of the engine. It is only apparent when reving in the 2,000-3,500 rpm range. I have read on other sites that the probable cause of this could...
