What are some common problems with the Ford Taurus SHO?
I'm not going to bother reading the rest of the thread before I reply, so if there are any duplicates here, my apologies. From a new owner's perspective, just beware as these cars are very maintenance intensive. However, you'd probably be fine buying one that hasn't received proper...- Siren

what type of spark plugs...
Stock plugs. Stock wires. Stock plugs part numbers: AGSP32PP. I believe this is an obsolete part, but still very easily obtainable. If I recall correctly, there is another NGK plug which is identical but sold under another part number. Only difference I seem to recall is that the plug height...- Siren

High pitched rattle/vibration under acceleration
What jumps out at me, based on your description, is an exhaust leak. My 93 ATX had a similar issue, which turned out to be a leaky flex pipe in the exhaust system... if it's not this, then I'm really at a loss. Regarding disabling the ABS - if you're willing to put up with an ABS light - you need to find the ABS pump under your hood - and then just pull one of the sensor connections. That will disable the system and trigger the ABS light. I won't be able to get you pics until later... Bear in mind...- Siren

SHOCH: We're lucky on the Pacific side of the country - chances of a rusted SHO out here are next to nothing unless it was imported from the east coast. My prior car, a 93 ATX, was imported from Ohio... and started rusting out about 6 months after I bought it. I do feel sorry for the SHO people...- Siren

platoribs: My old 93 ATX had a similar issue - power steering would ****/pulse through turns. I assumed this was a VAPS issue. Hawkeye, right you are, though brakes changed in '94 also to larger rotors. If I remember correctly, '93 had a strange rear brake setup that was one-off for the year, but I could be mistaken. Regarding seat compatibility: If you want to stick Gen 3 seats into a Gen 1/2, there will be wire...- Siren
