    Crankshaft and Camshaft Sensors

Also: if you are in as far as crankshaft sensor, and cam seals, the crank seal is also on your list, pulling off the timing cog with a puller also. You don't have to do it unless you are getting oil underneath, ultimately resulting in oil on the catalytic converters making a smoke machine, but...

    Starter Motor Replacement

Although probably late for advice, the top starter bolt will come off pretty easily with a 13mm ratcheting box-end combo wrench...with about 100 ratchets of little turns. Put your regular 13mm wrench on it to break it loose if too tight.

Need a replacement crankshaft bolt washer

Look what I have that SHOSource does not - and apparently no Ford, NAPA, Autozone, Oreilly, RockAuto, eBay, or anywhere else in the world... Fortunately, not my only backup, so I can part with it.

    Smoke Alarm Chirp

Perhaps the AC compressor magnetic clutch cycling, which is standard operation of the AC. It can click on under every 30 seconds while it is running in cool temperatures just as a dehumidifier. You can check the gap between the pulley and the front clutch plate with a feeler gauge, which...

zed and kob ring a bell. think my 93 came with zed tags on the springs. Good for saggy backs 15 years later.

'94 SHO - Gas in Crankcase

    0. revert any mods or problems to pcv hose routing 1. check plugs and fouling to see which cylinder has gas wash 1a. (find damaged plug or wire) 2. check compression while they are out with screw-in tester 2a. (rebuild engine to fix cracked cylinder ring that lets oil in exhaust and gas in oil)

Sunroof seal? Sunroof doctor doesn’t stock anymore…

F4SZ-6351884-A is the glass assembly seal. I checked Green Sales Co, no obsolete parts shipped there. Nor eBay. The doctor website through the wayback machine first had a tube of adhesive, then it had one with adhesive strip already applied. The doctor website takes you to a Buick Park Avenue...

    Crankshaft Bolt

See attached. Cheater pipe + crank bolt > wrench. I had another wrecking yard that after lots of trying by me and their mechanics, they rolled a compressor out to the yard and used a big Earthquake impact to finally bust one loose. You can also put a bit of torch heat on the bolt head itself...

    1992 MTX Air Con Issue

There's various metrics for measuring the AC charge, but the basic one for R134a is the static system pressure, without the car running, which should be checked with the car absolutely cold and after sitting overnight, and best with infrared thermometer gun to measure the temperature of the...

Go to change the brakes... found out why I was getting some weird noises

no, the shop manual procedure is the same through 1995 for bearing removal and installation. 1993 has a snap ring still, requiring a replacement after discard. Both removal and installation needs bearing arbor press and special bearing spacer installer for bearing install, and also the hub...

Gen 2 - ABS info, mod to ABS + Traction control?

I'm thinking it's possible to make your own breakout that operates similarly, having investigated how it works and the pinouts. The problem would be coming up with a free ABS module and its connector to gut and rewire instead of $60+ at a wreckers. Another option is one that can hook up to the...

    Knock sensor values

The knock sensor is tested by the key-on-engine-running test, when you "goose" the engine at the proper time. http://yamahasho.com/eec/eec.htm and sets a trouble code 225. Any sensing problem should set that. EEC breakout box between pin 23 and 46 is good if 2.4V - 2.6V DC. When measured in AC...

NOx emissions failure- any new wisdom?

EGR won't really kick in until you are going at highway speeds anyway. Opening it by manual vacuum at idle and you'll see the RPM falter and the engine struggle. They are probably testing at idle, as here they've done away with a dyno roller after mishaps. A quick look says that it is...

    A/C pro opinions

Just checked mine. At 71F, 72 PSI on the bottle's gauge, R134A retrofit. Just have to ponder why it doesn't cycle, only pulls the low side down to 25 and sits there.

    Daytime Running Lights (DRLs)

The DRL module on G2 turns on the high beams at half-power all the time the parking brake is not on and the headlights are off. It uses a light-dimmer-like circuit with a 50% pulse duty cycle, faster flashes than would be seen with an incandescent bulb. There is ignition key signal there...
