Wow...an actual bonafide quote from the movie "Roadhouse."
That's as rare as catching flys with chopsticks.

Many thanks. :)
The car is good. It's paid off, hitting 13s in the quarter mile, sprays ten feet of purge out of the grille at stop lights :D
I need to upgrade a few suspension stuff, such as outer tie rod endlinks. I had hoped to get to the FSTB yesterday, but the weather was poor...
Do you have oil on top of the spark plug rubber at the holes, or just on the inside of the wells? Odds are (regardless) you will need new valve cover gaskets.
I suspect it is your radiator. The intermittent leak could be from the bottom of the rad, and as is physically moves around while driving, the leak becomes more prevalent. Check to see if it is mounted tightly to all of its brackets, etc.
You can try the Bars Stop Leak stuff, but I have never...
I have dealt with them a bit as well. I went over there pick up a used starter for Mark Nunnally "loaner" car and to see if I can pick up a few crank bolts for Fred. The older man who runs the car sales is the typical plaid coat wearin' guy. He wanted $10 a piece a bolt plus $25 dollar labor...
Autozone has the cam sensor (part # F134) for $30.00. A worthwhile sensor to replace, along with the crank sensor. They both tend to fail after 6-8 years. The DIS should be changed only as a last resort.
My car began to act up on Monday. Severe bucking/surging idle with backfiring/stumbling...
Scott & Steve-
Thanks for the link. I will give it a try, but I admit I am a bit confused at first glance. I assume the test light will flash the codes, but how will a voltmeter register the signals?
Well, the problem reoccurred this morning, and sustained itself for a longer period of time. I was cruising along the highway, felt the car begin to buck and surge, so I turned around and headed home again. I drive most of the way in 2nd gear because the bucking was very rough at lower RPMs...
Thanks for the responses. It was only a one time thing---the car is starting and driving normal now (which makes me nervous). Hopefully it will stay that way. I will clean the IAB and probably replace the CID sensor in the near future.
Hey all-
I had an incident yesterday morning that I thought I would post. The responses will determine whether I take the car on a long trip this week.
The car began a cycling/surging idle at a stoplight. The CE light came on, so I pulled over to inspect the motor. The idle still was...
Who is the manufacturer of the alterator(s)? I am on my second NAPA alternator in two months. When I went back to the store to get the replacement unit, the salespersons asked: "Is this for a SHO?" After I responded, he mentioned that he has seen a lot of problems with aftermarket SHO...
Those plastic shrouds get pretty torn up and ratty over the years. Pull it off and remove all the stickers and plastic with a heat gun and a putty knife. Careful not to melt the actual shroud. Then replace with tasteful stickers like "SUPER STREET" and "BAD AZZ BOYZ DRIVE BAD AZZ TOYZ"...
