We use factory Motorcraft spark plugs so even if the previous owner had one of our packages installed, the spark plugs wouldn't be able to tell him. The only way he would be able to tell is when he goes to flash a tune on to the vehicle.
I checked with the strategy code and it's a popular code with the 2014 SHO's. The only way we would be able to figure out if it was tuned through us prior is if you were able to find the previous owners name. If you can't find the previous owners name, even though the dealer should have it, then...
Let me check to see if I can find anything with the S/W code or strategy code in the system. When people send the tune request forms in, the forms don't ask for the VIN. The previous customer could also have put the CAI on and left it stock.
I already messaged him to see which tune he has. If he was having transmission issues even on the factory tune, it's not tune related as it would be mechanically related. If he was having problems on another companies tune, would you feel the same way against that company?

We do. Our tuning department has been able to write some pretty neat tunes and some first of the kind tunes as well. Like I mentioned to him, the "soft shift" was an internal label since they kept having issues of missed 1-2 shifts with the regular performance tune so they softened up the...
I have had my truck tuned by another company for over 30k+ miles on a different device. The trans tuning on the 93 performance tune, as well as the E85 performance tune, felt like the tow tunes I had as the torque management was still there and I couldn't get it to launch properly for the life...
The tunes labeled "soft shift" should have been labeled "Normal shift". It won't be a stock shift feel but you will feel a difference between stock and tuned. Like I mentioned in our messages, we never touch cam retard. We keep it the same, but adjust the spark retard in the tune. Give the other...
And I'm trying to stoke the fire to fix those issues and problems because I wouldn't want to run a tune with issues either on my personal vehicle. I'm trying to build a show truck so I would also want to run a problem free tune. Give me some time and I will have them fix the problems with the tune.
The one that's labeled as "soft shift" is the corrected shift tune. The normal tune is a very aggressive tune that wasn't supposed to be sent out. You can run the one labeled "soft shift" which is the tune with the correct transmission shifting. If you have any issues or need any help with the...
I think it has to do with the management and salespeople that were here before though. Some of my managers said when they first started, and before those salespeople left, they didn't really communicate any issues. The old salespeople probably said "I'll fix it" or something along those lines...
I messaged @mooniesdl3 and I'll put the same response here in this thread. I am just the messenger for this info. The normal tune is a super aggressive shifting tune, which shouldn't have been sent out in the first place. The one labeled soft shift should be labeled corrected shift as it adds a...
I just got in the office today so I told him they also send a soft shift tune to his device and to try that one. If it still is slamming into gear, I will get with the tuning department and have them fix it and send him an updated tune to help prevent that.
I messaged @mooniesdl3 the day he downloaded the tune to let me know if he had any issues and I would correct them. The first time I found out about the issues he was having was from the comment on this post. He also has a soft shift V21 that is on the tuner as well. I've had no contact with him...
