    Recalls: All you have to do is call the local Ford dealer service department and give them your vin number located on the lower drivers side of the windsheild. They will run the number and tell you if there are any recalls outstanding on your car. It doesn't cost anything to get the number...

    Something else you can do for cheap...take your car to a local parts store like Advance Auto or Autozone...they'll read the codes for FREE.
