Is there a place to look for OEM cosmetic parts?

Gen2 brakes are less than 11" diameter, same size as the earlier cars so 15" should clear them just fine. Front brake size didn't get bigger in diameter until Gen3.

Must unlock with RKE to start car

That's just the factory RKE fob as you were thinking, hmm. No further insight from me on this unfortunately! Mine has a different fob.

Must unlock with RKE to start car

There was a Ford Accessories security system that had an ignition circuit interrupt ... the 92 I bought a few months ago had it as a dealer installed option. Can you post a photo of your fob? I'm a Ford dealer parts guy and if it it from Ford I can maybe I.D. it. cheers Ed

    95 SHO - 5 Spd Manual - Red

I'd say it's just poor lighting on a grey interior. Congrats on the sale!

Did Ford sell me a lesser quality brake pad

The Motorcraft replacement pads meet the Ford specs, but don't get the same level of testing as the OEM pads. The compound is usually not as vehicle-specific either. cheers Ed

Wheel studs too short by 1.016 mm

Is it not easier to drill the hubs out to a knurl size that is readily available in the aftermarket extended studs? Or is there not enough material around the holes to do that? I've not looked at the hubs up close myself to know the answer to that ... cheers Ed

Wheel studs too short by 1.016 mm

Depending on what style wheels you're using, a possible alternative to longer studs is to use "E-T style" wheel nuts that have a short shoulder in addition to the cone seat. As long as the stud holes on your wheels are large enough diameter for the shoulder, this type of nut will get you about...

    1979 PintSho Cruizer Wagon

Very cool. Back in the 80s my older brother had a 76 Pinto wagon that was originally a 2.8 V6 car, but too much nitrous was the end of that mill. We first did a stock 302 swap, then later a built 289 found its way in.

Long or short OEM strut bodies to use with Koni inserts?

Great info, thanks Nick. I wasn't aware of the SHO Wiki site, an excellent resource obviously.

Long or short OEM strut bodies to use with Koni inserts?

Koni NA got back to me quickly by email after I did an inquiry through their website. Apparently the numbers I'm getting are an early version for our cars.

Long or short OEM strut bodies to use with Koni inserts?

Hmm ... buying some from a member here that are NOS from a long time ago, numbers he has are 8641-1268S and 8641-1269S according to his old purchase invoice. Short of contacting Koni NA, anyone recognize those numbers? Thanks for all the info so far.

Long or short OEM strut bodies to use with Koni inserts?

That helps, I'm talking to a seller who has a few different ones so I'll see if he has any with the ID numbers from the model years mentioned in that thread. thank you

Long or short OEM strut bodies to use with Koni inserts?

For the new to me 92 that I have coming from western Canada, I've made a deal on a set of Koni inserts. I doubt that my car is going to have OEM strut housings in at this point, and anyway I'd like to get a complete set so that we can prepare them with the Konis and springs and be able to swap...
