So what did you do to your SHO today!?

Oh and I tossed it on the lift, changed the belt, looked at an oil leak, possibly front main, and stared at my new pry on the bench and said "maybe another day"

194k on car. I've got a aerosal paint kit coming for when I fill this little rust hole with fiberglass. https://www.automotivetouchup.com/

    Cleaning the short block

I personally never ever stuff shop rags into crevices, but now that you already have, go ahead and clean, but when you do go to remove them, make sure you have the shop vac going at all times. I advise against any rotary type tools, unless you are seasoned with them. Alot of guys take air tools...

    Cleaning the short block

Razor blades and follow along with a shop vac. I've been using this for years now and I really do like them as well Titan Scraper 17011 | O'Reilly Auto Parts https://share.google/2NRddperTUTVxSqds

    Puddle of water on floor

Wire coat hanger or long tipped blow gun works

    Puddle of water on floor

This is typically the plugged roof drains in the engine compartment, no?

This particular hose I have is very stiff. Warm it up a bit to make it malleable. Check out how far it goes...

I also hate to say this but I'm def getting the model specific forum conundrum here and definitely for the SHO, the focus on the PTU is so over rated here. If you've got basically a factory sealed ptu with 100k on it and you go to suck out the fluid, or drain it if you're that lucky, and it's...

I have never evacd or filled via the vent. I have no idea why people do that. You want to remove the fill plug on the side, come in from the rear with a suction hose and work it down in there. Same when you fill it. This isn't the exact one I have, but close to it so the hose sizes may not be...

New to me 15 SHO, what to do!

Now to grow balls and try to do my PTU seal, since I don't want to install my new unit just yet. I just don't want to be stranded at work if something goes wrong

New to me 15 SHO, what to do!

I've had turbo feed lines for like 3 years now at the bottom of my locker. The oil screen was flawless, so you know what we're not doing? The rear one.

This is on the rear, sorry photo doesn't tell that

New to me 15 SHO, what to do!

Body shops don't deal with rust. They will want to cut the entire panel off and then paint the entire car. The car isn't worth $5k on a decent day. It's miled out.

New to me 15 SHO, what to do!

Call me crazy, but I'm going to grind all this rot out, fill with small fiber fiber glass, then spray can it with a kit. I'm not really concerned how it'll look. Everything I own is a 25 footer. Just don't want a massive rust hole staring at me...
