Hey all! After a longer drive I have noticed a little bit of smoke coming from the engine area closest to the windshield. I can smell it and see it when stopped. It's not a lot but I am wondering if anyone has experienced this and what it might be. When I open the hood to look, I can't really pinpoint it. It smells like oil burning so I am thinking there is a small leak somewhere that when heated, it starts to smoke a bit.

I am not sure, where would it be located? Passenger side. I have a 2016 PP SHO...
I just replaced the motor in mine and had a loose bolt on the rear turbo, caused an exhaust leak on the rear passenger side of the engine, you can tell if it's exhaust it smells more burnt and like propane.

If you just smell burning oil it could be the catch can like Lee said, it would generally be on the left side near the coolant reservoir and has atleast one Line connected to the rear valve cover. Can you post a pic?

It COULD also be the PTU, if you smell a very strong propane smell inside the motor and see oil dripping on the exhaust it's the PTU, but you have a cooler on yours so that's highly unlikely, I haven't heard of many failures with the ones that have coolers. However if you have 60 or 80k miles and never changed the oil it may need it

Check the rear turbo. If it's leaking oil from the return line it lands on the exhaust and can cause a smoke show at times when it gets heated up

You mean the supply line right?
I supposed the return could get some on it but I would think thats less likely

If you can find a rack, get it up in the air, get it up to temp and see where it's dripping from. A ptu seal will normally do a spray pattern underneath, and these PTUs when leaking, drip directly onto the exhaust. It's a putrid smell.
