hi guys,
I’m looking to potentially purchase a 2013 SHO, PP in Ingot Silver Metallic 83k miles next week. I took a look at the vehicle a few days ago and it looks to be in great condition in terms of interior and exterior. Took it for a 5 minute spin around the block as I was pressed for time. Drove fine, TPMS light came on but it hadn’t been driven in a while according to the seller, not too worried about that.
New OE front pads and rotors were put on by the seller less than 2 months ago, visually confirmed both to be new. A slight grinding noise came from the front drivers side wheel, seller claims probably debris trapped between the pad. Had this happen on one of my BMWs and was an easy fix. Both agreed that this issue would need to be resolved prior to me purchasing the car. Tires also seem to be quite new and have a lot of tread left, some kind of Kumho all seasons, will be putting a new set on eventually if I make the purchase.
Read through quite a few of the threads on this forum regarding maintenance. Is there anything I should be taking into account aside from regular fluid changes (oil, trans, PTU, RDU, diff?) and the normal expendable items like brakes and tires?
I have the car booked in for a PPI this Wednesday at the Ford dealership it was bought used from by the current owner 3.5 years ago. Assuming there’s no glaring issues I’ll be looking to buy the car and use whatever they find to negotiate on pricing.
The seller had the car up for $16k, he said he’d go $15.6k had I agreed to buy it the day I came to take a look, however I’m no mechanic and will not buy a car before having it looked over by a professional.
Any advice at all would be amazing!

You have everything covered pretty much. I would change the coolant if it's been a while and check the battery. These things eat batteries and you can get weird issues when the battery seems ok but it's running a little too low. Make sure the driveline is good.

Appreciate it! Hopefully they do an in depth inspection when I take it in. Should I mention anything to Ford that I specifically want them to look at?

Pretty excited to be getting out of the 135i and into something more capable in the winters.

Sounds like you’re fairly well on top of most major issues. I’d ask ford to get a peek at the water pump weep hole, and ‘13 PP will have the recalled tow links.
Good luck!

Saw the toe-link recall online, I assume this will be easy to get taken care of at Ford or am I mistaken?
