I have them and love them. They suck in the winter... like really really bad... but the other three seasons they are top notch.

Haven't had a proper winter to test these tires, unfortunately. BUT, like StealBlue says, they are pretty much grab'n'go the rest of the time.

Last year we got a about 2 - 4 inches of snow.. my Michelins shredded it no problem.. no hill I couldn't get up...

2 inches of snow with my sport comps... I was all over the place and I have been driving in snow my whole driving life lol..

In short they are awesome tires for three seasons...

Traction sucks when temps get below 30F if your getting on it. Tires get hard.

Did tread depth make a difference, or do you believe it is the compounding/tread design?

Both... the tread is super soft, but it hardens up when the temp drops...

And if you look at the tread design, it's got a massive strip of rubber (for a street tire) running in the middle..which really sucks on snow.. AND the tread design doesn't have any bite for mud or snow...

I don't recommend them if you are using it for DD where you get snow and don't have a set of snow tires...

Hate buying tires! The Michelin tires on it now are $1,100.00. I guess I have to spend that much. They are great tire. I had 32,000 milled on them this winter ( last winter I would drive on them) and I was not impressed with the performance in snow. Maybe better when the is not 3/4 worn. Am I right, nothing compares to Michelin ?

I took my Blizzak WS80's on 17" Sport Wheels off last week and put my Michelin Pilot Super Sports on the factory 20" wheels. They have almost 20K miles and perform and look like new. I've had the original factory Goodyears, Continental DW's, and these Michelin's. To me the Pilot SS were worth the money IMOO.

I'm running the Comp2 A/S. They were fine for the 2 inches of snow we got this winter. Just tonight we were/are in a flash flood warning with heavy downpours and there are some good spots of standing water on I-40. They handled that water just fine going 55, no hydroplaning... i probably should have been going slower as I was zooming by everyone else on the road :burnout: They're also great tries for dry traction.
Overall I think they're a great tire, especially for the price compared to the Michelins

I personally think so. Not the quietest (that's usually a Michelin, and a few other tires in category), but very quiet. I drive with the windows down pretty much all the time, and it doesn't bother me. I think low-speed maneuvering is the time you hear the most sound, and/or driving on gravel roads.

Here are the comfort ratings from TireRack.com:
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=UHPAS

If I didn't get the Michelins, the DWS06 would be a great choice as well.
