if you find the one you want, go get it. took me awhile, but I found a black 2013 pp, lowered, in San Antonio TX. I flew out from work in RI and drove it home to MA.

My thoughts on carmax is every single car I've ever looked at from them was ridiculously over priced. When I was looking for my SHO, the cheapest I saw at carmax was 24K, I ended up getting mine for under 16K from a dealer down the street. Just make sure you know your used car values (KBB or NADA), if you do your homework I doubt you could ever buy a car from carmax unless you like giving huge chunks of your money away for no reason.

My experience was very different. I got mine from CarMax. Easiest transaction I've ever done in my life. Their price was not above market, except for B-lot reject cars. The car I bought was practically spotless - no dings, only a couple of very small scratches, and an interior that hardly looked like it had ever been used. And they had put on brand new brakes and Michelin's all around. They're also getting me two new transponder keys because the ones with the car aren't working 100% even after replacing the battery. The price they gave me as a trade-in on my Mustang was more than fair and more than anyone else around here would give me. Not sure if shopping in the last week of December had anything to do with it.

You just have to know the numbers for your local area and see what you're getting from them that you may not be getting somewhere else.

What did they charge you for yours? The cheapest they have listed on their website this morning is 20K for a 2010. The most obnoxious price I saw was 30K for a 2013, but every single SHO listed appeared to be greatly overpriced.

I paid 15,500 for my 2011 a year ago today at a regular dealer. I was driving away with it an hour and 20 minutes after I pulled into their parking lot and they gave me a grand over book trade in value for the car I traded in on it.

$22.5k for a 2012 with average miles

$15.5 for a 2011 is just an absolutely crazy deal. Congrats.

From what I've seen from CarMax, that's a pretty good deal from them. Maybe their website prices aren't accurate?

I searched high and low for six months for mine. I assumed I would be putting an engine or tranny in it within a year for the price I paid, but knock on wood I'm 22k miles in and not a single issue yet.

From my research if the car sits around they start dropping the price every 30 days. After maybe 3-4 months they auction off the car. The one I got had been sitting around since September. So while they don't negotiate directly, their prices do change with time.
