Performance package yields practicaly precharged brakes anyway with the shorter pedal throw and higher pressure master cylinder.

... I would like to think that the performate package contributed to my cars abilities but know that my defensive driving skills and alertness are to credit. My SHO makes me even more alert driving than my 1971 Boss 351 and especially my 2010 F150 lariat because the Taurus is such blast to drive. It is driving excitement to say the least...even my wife gets on it when driving it...she has always been reserved while driving.

i've had almost the same Experience. the responsiveness of the PP suspension on such a big car is amazing. Granted on a poor road its not so nice but its a fair trade off.
PP brakes:
"2013 Ford Taurus SHO with Performance Package
The brakes get a larger master cylinder bore ... "
"Braking, however, was a big improvement at 106 feet versus 112." thats 60-0 in the 2013 PP vs Non and the 2010 Non PP does 60-0 in 127 feet.
PP Acceleration:
"About the only acceleration-enhancing improvement is the swapping out of 2.77:1 differential gearing for a shorter 3.16:1 set. This has the effect of adding 128 pounds of launch thrust to each of the four driven contact patches in first gear ..."
PP Cooling:
"... This reduces the temperature of the power-takeoff gear by some 75 degrees F, and allows the car to withstand 32 hot laps of Michigan's demanding Grattan racetrack without overheating."
this makes it pretty obvious to most that the PP is the best bang for your buck for this car ...
