Used PP SHO's hard to find?

In a couple of months I'll be in the market for a used 13+ PP SHO (preferably a 14or 15). Just a quick look on the popular car classified websites doesn't yield very many used PP SHO's. The one giveaway that I'm looking for is the different steering wheel that the PP SHO's have.

Are the PP SHO's really that much harder to find?

Here in Dallas, they are gone within a few days of posting to the web. My lease on my 2013 ends in March. Not sure if trading it in will yield more cash.

My dealer couldn't find one without buying from another dealer, and they are pretty big.

Yes they are....wise to look for that steering wheel in the ad pics as I found many dealers don't specify if a PP car or not and that was the only way to tell....I wanted a PP with leather only and the massaging seats. That took patience but one magically showed up in my city and was not advertised as a PP car....I ran the VIN to see if it had the seats....it did and I grabbed it. I was open to a few colors so that helped.

Just my two cents, but look at non PP cars. I was convinced I wanted a PP car, ended up getting a non PP car, and I do not regret it one bit. And this is coming from a performance nut, someone who traded in a supercharged/cammed/aftermarket transmission Mustang to pick up the SHO.

Assuming you get the drivers aid package, which you cannot get with the PP car, it is really nice. The adapative cruise is the best thing since sliced bread.

I have to agree. I have a Non PP car, and I love the thing. The adaptive cruise control is awesome for long road trips. And I cant think of a single time where i would have needed to turn the traction control all the way off.

Just picked up a 13' PP SHO with 41,000 miles in VA. Fully loaded black on black

I traded a '13 Mustang GT for my SHO, so I had all the sideways I wanted. It was the 9th Mustang I've owned, my life needed less sideways (way, way less).

Enter the AWD SHO, sideways be gone!

Fortunately I live in sunny California. That said, isn't the AWD with good snow tires enough to keep the "sideways" out of your life. That and keeping your foot out of it?

No, that guy is saying he wants to go sideways. And I got my SHO after Winter ended, but from what I'm reading everywhere snow tires aren't even needed.

After re-reading the post, i stand corrected.

But is that one instance or case enough to justify the need for a PP SHO? I say the adaptive cruise control trumps the "track mode" traction control all the way off mode.

And to bring us all back together, isn't owning a SHO period, better than not having one at all?

It kind of depends.

I have a non PP car, but if someone occasionally wants to auto x then having the ability to completely turn off AdvanceTrac is a must. This next issue doesn't apply to our AWD SHO, but RWD/FWD cars in snow climates need the ability to turn it off to sometimes get out of the snow.

I've been a stalwart performance fan my entire adult life (mostly drag racing) and the idea of getting a worse performing axle ratio (2.77 vs PP 3.16) would have been unimaginable. But now that I no longer drag race like I used to, I have to admit the Driver Assist Package is the nuts. Too bad getting that negates having the PP.

Finally, when I was looking for a used 13/14 SHO, the only one's available within a 120 mile area did not have PP. I'm thinking if one did, I'd probably lean towards that option. But I have what I have, and I love the car.

I really do not understand why people buying the $55,000+ car (in Canada) don't opt for the PP for under $2000. There seem to be so few PP, when it seems like a steal of a deal??? It boggles my mind and it took me 8 months to find the SHO I wanted in Canada (didn't want silver or black) but the ONLY PP I found in the 3 western provinces didn't have nav or a sunroof (who does that?).

I agree about the PP being a steal... Lots of stuff for the $$s - and I liked the way it performed / handled much better with it. Which is why I purchased mine with it!

I also don't get the way a lot of them seem to be ordered for inventory. Seems like every SHO should have a moonroof and navigation.

Took some searching to find exactly what I wanted, that's for sure. But I'm glad i did!

The PP IS a steal, that's for sure. But here's the deal:

1) It's not a Mustang (generally younger/performance oriented crowd) so there's probably less of a demand for a PP
2) The 3 used one's I had to choose from were all exec rentals, so the Driver Assist Package is going to be more appealing than the PP (can't get both together)
