I got a call today, the new Conti-extremes were in, like 4 days early. Went and had them put on. I can tell a reasonable difference that I am glad I went ahead and exchanged them. It just rained here and they stick really good in the rain. :naughty:

They will get better. Tires need a coupla hundred miles, and a coupla heat cycles, to bed in. If they were better in the rain right out of the box, it shows a dramatic improvement, as they are still "greasy" when new.

I wouldnt put those yokos on an SHO. I could probably steer you in the right direction and get you a really good deal at DTD, but I need to know what your budget is.

(I recently bought 205-45-16 BFG gsports for 310 shipped before the rebate) Most people dont realize these prices are usually negotiable over the phone.

He "did very good" with the Conti Extreme DWS. Those BFGs are a step down IMO.

In fact, IMO "ANY" BFG tire is a step down. BFGs and Kumhos suffer from the same "Heavy Ass Tire" disease.

oh, crap i missed his post saying he went with the conti's. Good tire.

as far as them being heavy,.. You get what you pay for for the most part. So a little extra weight on a tire only used on the street isnt hurting anyone. There has to be a little acrafice i guess,
(when my RA1's came out of the wrapper they were beastly compared to rs2's that were on there. No suprise this is a tire that lasts a long time and takes a serious beating)
