Had to workon it this weekend to fix the reverse and the P/S that failed (Power arms). Took us 2.5 hours to have the subframe on the floor and out of under the car. Having that little dolley with wheels really helps.

The reverse problem was the 5th gearset/sychros , had some notches on them and wasnt passing freely. Its all fixed now.

Subframe + tranny removed.

Jacked SHO , this was the good height to clear the subframe. Intake removed .

Tack welded a metal tubing on the rails to be able to jack centered and high. This can be done with low ceilings with hood removed or closed.

We now have a good wirering issue , the interior wires (that sticks out through the firewall in the engine bay , does NOT mate with my 92 mtx harness. Its only a matter of time.

Wow, you really bent the floor rails when you placed that cross brace so far back. You should place the cross brace just aft of the rear sub frame plates. That way the forces are distributed upward into the main sidewall structures on both sides.

That rolling cart is a great idea. I think I'm going to steal part of that idea and combine it with my pallet jack system.

Funny! I just snagged two very similar dollies from work that they were tossing out! I envisioned moving motors around my garage with the greatest of ease LOL!

Nice looking Y-pipe you have there

I was noticing that as well. ;)

FWIW, the weakness of those floor rails is the very first thing I learned about working on SHOs. I put a jack stand under my brand-new car and -squish-, although it didn't bend quite as bad as in this case. But, yeah, those are only strong near the front.

They were already bent from a previous job , they didnt bend any further with that job.

Tom the dolley is so great , specially for reinstalling - takes about 15 minutes (2 persons). one to align the dolley , one to lower the jack.

Is that an old SHOshop piece with a new tail/collector welded on or was the whole thing from scratch?

Theres not a single shoshop part on that car. Everything is home made , exhaust-wise.

Yup , its a bread rack dolley , holds perfectly , its not even bending in the center.
