Guys,

Well last week I took off the imrc connector and unhooked and hooked up the battery to clear any codes. This cleared the check out engine light.

All clear for a couple of days so today thought I would risk the inspection. Before I went I did the battery thing again to clear any pending codes and then took it down to get inspected.

They hooked it up and failed me by saying that it was not OBD2 ready and that this usually happens if I disconnected the battery recently and that I should drive around a bit to get the system to go through some drive cycles.

I'll try and head down tomorrow to get it tested again, even though on the slip of paper they gave me they recommend a week.

Rav.

P.S. To show you how annoyed I am I'll even use one of these frowny faces.

yeah they will fail you because they assume your trying to cover stuff up if you have to pull the spout connector:thumb:

 This is a Gen 3 car. Rav, I don't know why they said it's not OBDII because it is. Like I said, they probably retrived a P1000 wich means that all the monitors have not yet passed and a drive cycle has not been completed.

My advise, drive the car for a coulpe days if possible to ensure that a drive cycle has passed. Some of the monitors take time to pass. When you're ready, take the car to Autozone and have them pull codes to ensure there are none stored. If the P1000 remains, a drive cycle has not been met. If there are any other codes, your car will likely fail and we have to fix that damn thing for good. In fact, take you car to the nearest Autozone tonight and post the results if you can.

I want to get it fixed but am waiting on you Nik to find me an IMRC unit :) . I will drive it around till friday night and then see if I can get any codes shown by Autozone.

Then it will be the test on Saturday morn before the get together.

Okay guys,

I was going to work today and have an autozone on my route to work so dropped in to see if there were any codes. There scanner says no and the OBD2 was up, so I head down to the inspection station.

Firstly they definitely check for the 'Check Engine Light'.

All that said the clunker passed!!!!!

So thanks to everyone, especially Nik and Paul for the advice.

See you all on Saturday.

Rav.
