will a bad battery effect SHO power

I know this is a stupid question but my Die hard is dying and i am getting a new one im not sure if i should go with a new battery or stick with a Die hard. Also i have had this battery ever since i had this car and it looked like shit when i bought it i was just wondering if this could be why my sho feels like its a regular old for Taurus Thanks Jason
