basically, whenever I go over a large negative bump i get this sound.
Seems like somethings loose, but I looked up under and couldnt see anything in particular. i dont get anything when going over just a regular bump.
any ideas?
Oh, and if you need to know, I have adjustable konis, eibach springs, and some extra subframe connector from sho-shop (my dad got it done when it was his car, so i'd have to find the reciept to know exactly what was done)
also possibly related. whenever i have 3 or sometimes 2 passengers in the back i get extra noise/vibration from the exhaust. it seems one of the pipes is contacting part of the chassis or something maybe. i cannot recreate it when im under the car...anyway to get this to stop?

Check the upper and lower bolts on the sway bar link. If you still have the old style metal links with the easily torn rubber boots over the greased ball joints, this might be a good opportunity to replace them with the stiffer composite links with their superior joint boots. If not the sway bar link, you should also check the integrity of the subframe bushings. If neither, check that upper strut mount.

I had the same problem with my 92 MTX this past summer. In addition to the clunking sound there was some faint scraping noises going on at slow speeds. Made an arrangement to have the car serviced but later on that day the true problem appeared. My entire front left caliper came off while I was cruising at 70. It dropped down and got wedged on the inside of the wheel. Needless to say it was a mess. Advice? Make certain everything down there is as tight as its supposed to be. I can just imagine if this had happened to me at speed. Good luck. Please keep me posted!
