I had a $300 NAPA clutch in my 89. Great clutch. My 91 has a SS Hi-revs Jr. and I love it too. I'm not sure if it justifies the extra $200+ though, but I still love it.

If you are just going to street drive your car, no competative events, the Ford replacement clutch from
SHO NUT at $219 simply can't be beat.
I wouldn't buy another Centerforce dual friction unit for a SHO. ($550)
It wears just as quickly and doesn't hold noticably better then the Ford.
Most of the centerforce clutch covers (presure plate) come with the additional weights for increased high speed holding power, but the SHO unit doesn't.
There isn't enough room in the transmission for them.
Mine only gave me about 23,000 miles. The Fords should give you around 30,000.
As a side bar some of my racer friends are saying that the Centerforce dual friction slips very noticably in their V-8s with more that 450hp and they have gone to Kevlar discs instead.
Of course I live in a hilly area and it is a tough life for a clutch here.
Some owners are reporting 100,000 miles on thier clutches but they probably must be in flat areas and drive long distances frequently.
My contacts at Ford report the expected life of the original clutch was around 25,000 miles.
My car spins the drive tire just engauging the clutch off of idle on any kind of a damp road surface. That's not a happy life for a clutch.

SHOstuff - go back and read some past threads, there is literally tons to read on new clutchs. I couldnt tell you what kind of clutch to buy, a clutch is a very personal piece to have. You may think im crazy but Doug Waschenko makes a good point, it all about how you drive, how much HP, where you live, and how you shift.

If you were me, you would be looking at a Southbend TZ clutch http://www.dxdracingclutches.com/home.html for alittle over $400.
but i live in a semi flat area with lots of changing weather, I drive hard, plan on a few perfomance goodies (upto 270 at the fly), and the faster I can shift, the faster my shogo!! :D

BTW - If you can still get a SHONUT clutch I think that about 20 people in this forum are going to search you out and steal it from you, he recently stopped selling and alot of us missed it headbang headbang headbang
