Dudes and dudettes,

I'm interested in a car alarm/remote entry/remote start system for my 1991...but, there are SO many brands, models and features out there, I don't know how to choose. I'd also like some optional outputs for window control, etc.

Anybody have any recommendations on WHICH brand to go with?

Anybody have any recommendations on WHERE to buy?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for the replies...by DEI, do you guys mean ANY of the gazillion DEI brands (Python, Viper, Sidewinder, Clifford, et al)? IS there just a "DEI" brand?

Unless it has changed in the last couple of years (very possible) Clifford was its own company. They had their own subdivisions, like Avital. Both DEI and Clifford make good quality products. Crimestopper is pretty nice too. The key issue with alarms is the quality of installation.

DEI owns Clifford AND Avital. http://www.directed.com

Viper alarms, in my experience offer the best value and ease of installation. I've never touched either an Avital or Clifford though I've heard they're supposed to be superior in protection but harder to install.
