They're not yellow or anything, and I know my corners dont match because they're brand new, but why are my fishtanks so much brighter? Is there anything I can do to make my headlights appear brighter, or at least match everything?

Im pretty sure its the old-type glue they used on these vehicles. The glue is what yellows/browns. I know because my car was in a half-bumper crush, and the passanger side has new headlights... no browning. I am planning on outlining my headlights in black, to get rid of the nastyness, at least I may do it.

Basically, you cannot get rid of it, unless you break all the glue that is holding the front of the headlight to the reflector housing, scrape off all the glue, and replace with better glue.

Or you can buy new headlights for 75$ each.

Actually it is not that. The entire back of the fishtanks is coated in silver. The headlight bottom is not. So you are seeing the bottom and making the headlight look dark.

You can get new lights for $75 only? Where?
Headlights are cheap there only sable headlights so search for 1992-1995 Sable headlights for the deal but try buying new fish tank reflectors and they bend you over to buy them or wont even sell them at all unless you buy SHO "only" headlight/reflector setup.

I've seen new SHO/Sable headlights for ~$165, and those aren't even OEM.

If you need fishtanks, just go to a junk yard, most are in brand new condition anyway.

Have you been looking? I easily find under $100 prices for each side and cheapest at $70, here's my quick 1min search for Ford/OEM @FPN: $124/L & 119/R now aftermarket @autopartsreplacement.com: $78 each side.

I'm sure if you get real picky and search more than the 1min I did you can get better prices, don't make me tell you to search :D lol j/p.

No I haven't looked :p But I'm not looking for new headlights right now anyway.

But at that price I might just get a brand new set :D .

You might try another trick before shelling out for new headlights.

Assuming the GEN II headlights are constructed somewhat like the GEN 1 units, you can crack apart the lense from the housing if you are careful. By slipping a knife blade betweent the lense and the housing and slowly breaking the seal around the housing, you can eventually pry the two pieces apart with relative ease. Then clean away the yellowed glue on the housing. You can re-glue the lense with a high strength contact cement after cleaning it out.

relative ease and taking the gen II headlights parts should not be used together. lol i tore both mine apart and resealed them with clear silicon, did WONDERS! but holy **** what it a bitch to get them apart. (i also sanded and polished the lenses) for the price of polish/sandpaper, silicon, and some bloody fingers i have brand new headlights.

the problem is with the curve in the gen II headlights. it makes it a bitch to get apart. but it does come apart, and do not fear force! trust me. thumb
