Do any of y'all use Royal Purple or Mobil 1 synthetic oil?

If you are using Mobil 1 and changing it every 3000 miles then you are just throwing you money out the window. The only advantage I can see to using full synthetic oil is for the longer mileage intervals it allows.Never have used Royal Purple, I don't believe it's readily available in my area. Typically use Mobil1 5w30 High Mileage Full Synthetic and change every 3K miles along with the M1-209 filter. Got'em setup for delivery through Amazon.
Fair enough, just been going by the Ford recommendations. I realize the Mobile1 states 10-15K on the bottle, but I don't mind being a bit cautious. This may also explain why my engines internally are acknowledges as being so clean! If you are using Mobil 1 and changing it every 3000 miles then you are just throwing you money out the window. I use Motorcraft 10/30 or 10/40. Depends on the car I'm servicing. All my cars oil changes are set up with 5k mileage on the odometer. 30k, 35k, 40k, etc....

Most times it rips along the seams, but I have had the sensor fail on my last 3 tanks helping to keep them fresh. Good thing they are still available with lifetime warranties! Is it WELDED ! ? ! ? !? ?????
If Not.......
(Nothing else matters)
I saw your pix from bringing home the car.
That Black Top degasser tank will let you down. They ALL fail. You get a crack in the tank on the under side and it only leaks at highway speeds. You won't know WHERE the coolant went, but it always seems to disappear. Dorman 24 v DOHC Taurus tank for same year is a direct replacement.
Lifetime Warranties are LIMITED Lifetime Warranty. I advise all of my clients at the O'Reilly Store I work at.Most times it rips along the seams, but I have had the sensor fail on my last 3 tanks helping to keep them fresh. Good thing they are still available with lifetime warranties!
Thank you. When I picked it up, I used premium for the 300+ mile road trip since I have no idea what the previous owner used. The early cars came with a "Premium Fuel" admonishment on the dashboard.
Later years dropped this requirement.
Many discussions on V8SHO.com and it was determined that premium fuel was not worth the extra expense.
Car runs the same on 87 octane.
I still use the Royal Purple FIC once in a while on my vehicles. Since I got the SHO last week, I have the oil and transmission fluids all changed. The transmission fluid looked bad. I'm not sure if the previous owner ever did it.imho, there is an advantage to using the premium fuel because the best fuel has more injector cleaner, which in my experience, allows one to drive the car without having to do periodic injector cleanout procedure. When you factor in that cost every few years, the costs balance out.
